After all, being a legend in your own time is a pretty heavy responsibility. So we asked ourselves, what did we do to become a legend? On June 28, 1968 Eleanor, Duke and Randy Sherod opened Trabuco Oaks as a snack bar serving campers from O’Neill Regional Park and Trabuco Canyon residents. Here, he learned the secrets to creating amazing Sardinian recipes from his mother, Maria. She prepared her signature dishes with ingredients from the surrounding land and sea, such as locally caught fish, foraged wild mushrooms, and freshly picked greens. As a young, enterprising teenager, Pietro moved to Tuscany at 14 to pursue a career in woodworking. However, thanks to his friend, he quickly became interested in the culinary traditions of his new home.
