Here, he learned the secrets to creating amazing Sardinian recipes from his mother, Maria. She prepared her signature dishes with ingredients from the surrounding land and sea, such as locally caught fish, foraged wild mushrooms, and freshly picked greens. As a young, enterprising teenager, Pietro moved to Tuscany at 14 to pursue a career in woodworking. However, thanks to his friend, he quickly became interested in the culinary traditions of his new home.
