Big Future Preschool is a private independent program created to employ emerging research findings on early childhood development and effective early childhood instruction. Our goal is to provide high-quality early childhood education that nurtures children’s cognitive, emotional, physical and social development. We are adhering to advanced academic standards in the subjects of reading, language, and mathematics by immersing children into the areas of the arts as well as science and technology. We use a teacher-directed balance of child-initiated, free-choice activities and intentional, teacher-directed instruction. Our program is based upon the standards defined by the Preschool Learning Foundation from the California Department of Education. The curriculum is coordinated with local kindergarten instruction and applies researched strategies to prepare children for the transition to the classroom. British Swim School is the perfect place for swimmers of all ages and experience levels, with a variety of programs for children ages 3 months to adults. We have been teaching water survival skills for over 40 years, offering a three-part curriculum that teaches the skills needed for water acclimation, water survival, and stroke development. Swimmers progress from learning how to be safe in the water to mastering swimming strokes. Our professional swim instructors receive extensive training to deliver an outstanding experience for every swimmer. Every swimming lesson incorporates our signature fun and gentle teaching methods to help inexperienced swimmers feel comfortable and confident in the water, establishing the foundation for a lifetime of safety and fun. This year-round Swim Center is located near Mission Ave and I-5 (One block east of I-5, 2 blocks south of Mission Ave.) It had major renovations done in 2024 and was reopened on February 5, 2024. Brooks Street Swim Center is an L-shaped outdoor heated pool that features 7 long lap lanes with a distance of 100 feet or 33 and a third yards. [read more]

For the past 20 years, the private Home-based Busy Bee School has been a place that has been "buzzing" with adventure, whole-child development & personalized learning. As the public schools have been putting younger children into larger class environments, with less play and age-appropriate development--we believe that children learn BEST when they feel safe, heard, and understood.
