Destination Temecula Wine Tours and Experiences
Dave Wilson moved to Temecula in 1991 to serve as the opening Director of Sales and Marketing for a brand-new area hotel. At that time the entire Temecula Valley consisted of ~27,000 residents (compared to over 600,000 today), ONE stoplight and seven wineries. That same year, partnering with the then Executive Director of the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce, they created the valley’s first tourism committee, Dave chairing the initial two years. This committee ultimately segued to today’s non-profit “Visit Temecula Valley”. Two factors crystalized his awareness of the opportunities to come and were key in Dave’s decision to take the plunge and step away from the corporate world to follow his dream to be an entrepreneur. A tourism project he spearheaded as committee chair reinforced his awareness of the amazing mix (even at that very early stage) and breadth of area attributes attractive to visitors such as the valley’s distinct scenery and topography, weather, historical significance and area activities including golf, wine tasting and outdoor recreation. Working with a graphic artist, he conceptualized, composed all descriptive text, then sold the advertising to fund Temecula’s first two visitor’s guides. [read more]

Our Heritage Our story begins in 1971 along the cobblestone streets of Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. It was here where Starbucks opened its first store, offering fresh-roasted coffee beans, tea and spices from around the world for our customers to take home. Our name was inspired by the classic tale, “Moby-Dick,” evoking the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders. Ten years later, a young New Yorker named Howard Schultz would walk through these doors and become captivated with Starbucks coffee from his first sip. After joining the company in 1982, a different cobblestone road would lead him to another discovery. It was on a trip to Milan in 1983 that Howard first experienced Italy’s coffeehouses, and he returned to Seattle inspired to bring the warmth and artistry of its coffee culture to Starbucks. By 1987, we swapped our brown aprons for green ones and embarked on our next chapter as a coffeehouse. Starbucks would soon expand to Chicago and Vancouver, Canada and then on to California, Washington, D.C. and New York. By 1996, we would cross the Pacific to open our first store in Japan, followed by Europe in 1998 and China in 1999. Over the next two decades, we would grow to welcome millions of customers each week and become a part of the fabric of tens of thousands of neighborhoods all around the world. Caesars Appliance Sales & Service legacy began with the original owner Cesare Del Prato when he worked on televisions and appliances in Italy at the age of 15. He moved to California in 1960 to find work repairing appliances which landed him in Gardena, California, where he worked for an appliance repair shop mastering his trade. After a successful 10 years in Gardena, it was time for Cesare to move his wife and three children to Mission Viejo in 1970, where he started his own appliance repair business. In 1971 Cesare moved his company to Laguna Niguel offering appliance service, parts and sales to the wonderful community in which he and his family lived. He and his wife ran the business together for several years with their kids eventually expanding office personnel, shop help and field tech service. Temecula Valley Soccer Association
Temecula Valley Soccer Association is rich in the history of soccer in Temecula as well as the history of soccer in Southern California. Born in or around 1985, TVSA has grown with the city and the valley and has provided a recreational league for an estimated 100,000 youth players over the past 30 years. The league was founded by Willie Marschand as a place for the youth of Temecula to play the game of soccer in a fun and safe environment. Throughout the years, TVSA continued to provide the youth of Temecula with an affordable avenue to play soccer and was officially incorporated in 1993. At this time, the City of Temecula established the Sports Council and granted TVSA official status as a recognized league. This designation was important for the growth of the league and afforded the league the ability to have lighted fields for both Fall and Spring seasons. The mission of providing affordable and safe soccer for the youth of Temecula has been a pillar of the organization since its inception. It is that core value to has made TVSA one of the more successful and recognized recreational leagues in Cal South and District 5. TVSA has been named League of the Year, League of Excellence and many other distinctions. It started as an all volunteer organization and it still is an all volunteer organization to this day. The spirit of volunteerism is also a cornerstone of TVSA and the organization works hard to give back to the community. TVSA have a vibrant TOPs program for the city’s youth with special needs. TVSA and its members have donated money, time and goods to local organizations and continue to do so. TVSA are looking to provide annual monetary scholarships for graduating seniors at the 3 local high schools. The current BOD and its committee members would like to recognize all of those who served this organization and its members and instilled the mission and values that we continue to strive to uphold.
