About Melinda Meltzer Hi! My name is Melinda, CEO of Stay and Play Pet Sitting in Temecula, California. I am a graduate of Cal State Los Angeles Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Mt. San Antonio College with an Associates in Math and Science. I grew up with an array of different pets including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, mice, rabbits, and fish. I have been a professional pet sitter since 2014 and in the pet care industry since 2012. My roles include Companion Animal Specialist, Receptionist, Dog Walker, and Veterinary Assistant. I did pet sitting as a hobby while I worked as a Vet Tech Assistant, but wanted to provide more one-on-one personalized attention to the pets that needed it and the pet parents that desired it. After a few years of having solar panels installed on my home, I noticed a decrease in production and at the end of the year, the true-up bill was higher than expected. I then decided to go up on my roof and realized the panels were very dirty! At this point, I contacted the solar company that installed my solar system to have them cleaned. They told me their company does not provide any kind of routine maintenance, which was disappointing. So I did some research and found the best method to properly clean any solar array. Surf Ride Boardshop
Surf Ride was founded in 1974 by twin brothers Bill and Richard Bernard with the original and flagship location being in Oceanside on Coast Hwy. Bill and Richard started out in a little 800 sqf adobe building on what was then called "Hill Street" in Oceanside CA. Originally a Hobie Cat dealership with a focus on the core sports of the ocean. As sailing became less popular and every time it rained in Oceanside the adobe building would leak water through the walls and the streets would flood the front door, the brothers decided it was time to build a new building. They knew that they needed one that could fulfill the dreams they had of becoming Californias premier destination shop for all things SURF! In 1984 they began construction on what is now Surf Ride. The building was originally split into 3 different business with a restaurant on the side. As business improved and the need for more space was fulfilled by tearing down walls and expanding the surf department. Business was booming for surf and after 13 years they decided it was time to open an second location. In 1997 the Solan Beach location was opened up. The 7,500 sqf store was custom built from the ground up to house the largest surfboard selection in California. By 2005 the brothers had both had enough of the daily grind and decided to retire and let the next generation take over the business. Dustin and Josh Bernard stepped in to let their dad and uncle chase the dream of sailing the South Pacific and surfing perfect waves in warm water. Today, Dustin is actively shaping surfboards for Surf Ride under the SR/MFG label and Josh is the active CEO of Surf Ride. Surf Ride Boardshops are truly one of the last surviving core family owned surf shops in AMERICA. Surf Ride specializes in having the best boards, wetsuits, and clothing that the surf industry has to offer. They also have an amazing fleet of rental boards both foam boards and custom hand shaped epoxy boards. During the summer Surf Ride Surf Camp is the best place for kids to learn how to surf! My name is Kiza, and I am the owner of ABC Learning Childcare & Preschool located in Murrieta, CA. (formally known as Maria's ABC Learning Childcare & Preschool). My mom, Maria, originally founded Maria's ABC Learning Childcare & Preschool over 25 years ago. I would like to share with you, my mother's story, and why I chose to continue on with her legacy. About 31 years ago my parents welcomed a little girl into this world. (me)! Prior to opening her home up to take care of children, my mom worked as a flight attendant for Alaska/Horizon Airlines. It wasn't long before my mom would have to return back to work. Both of my parents had crazy schedules, so it was extremely difficult for them to find a daycare that would be able fit their needs. Finally, after endless hours of searching, they found someone. The person they hired was licensed, qualified in both CPR & First Aid, and seemed to be very loving and trustworthy. Shortly after my parents returned to work full time, they started noticing that I was losing weight, and acting lethargic. They took me to the Pediatrician frequently, and although he wasn't overly concerned, my parents were. My parents asked the daycare provider if I was eating, drinking and acting normal. The daycare provider claimed that everything was normal, and that there was nothing to worry about. Shortly after, I ended up being hospitalized for being dehydrated, malnourished and anemic. When my parents confronted the daycare provider, the excuse given was that they "forgot" to tell my parents that I wasn't eating at all! The daycare provider's horrific response was, "if your daughter didn't like what was being fed to her, then we simply would not bother feeding her". My parents were devastated, angry and felt horrible for leaving me with someone they thought they could trust. The doctor advised my parents I would have to stay in the hospital for awhile, but when released, the doctor advised my mom to stay home with me until I fully recovered... Frightened... my mom didn't want to leave me in anyone else's care again, so she came up with the idea of opening up her own in-home daycare. She never wanted any child or their parents to experience what she or I went though. That is when she made a vow to open a daycare that would nurture, love and cherish all the children that came in and out of her home. I looked at my mom as an angel. Even the daycare parents would call her their angel! When I was younger, I looked forward to helping my mom with the daycare children. I would even try to skip school so I could help out (shhh...)! I watched in amazement, the love that would pour out of my mom. I couldn't wait to grow up and be just like her! I truly admire and respect my mom with all of my heart. She loved and cared for so many children through the years. About 14 years ago, my mom moved and told me it was my turn to take over and continue the daycare she started. Although I was sad that my mom moved, I was excited at the same time, to have the opportunity to carry on my mom's legacy. I love and cherish every single child that walks through my door and have the same passion for ensuring the highest level of care is given to each child.
