In 1989 Jens Molbak was sitting in his dorm room at Stanford University, staring at a jar of coins on his desk, trying to think of the easiest way he could turn all that loose change into some much-needed cash. He realized that there was simply no way to do it. Founding Coinstar two years later, Jens aimed to create an easy and convenient way for people to turn their loose change into spending money without having to sort, roll, and take it to the bank. Along with two classmates, he built a kiosk that could accurately do all of the hard work. This meant that all the customer had to focus on was how they were going to spend the cash they got back. By 1992, the kiosk was ready for its first installation and Coinstar was subsequently named one of the fastest growing companies in the US. Fast forward to today, and Jens’ vision of helping people make their coins go further is bigger than he could have predicted. Cantor's Driving School - Serving All Of San Diego County
Allan Cantor opened the first Cantor’s Driving School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1976. This father of four was a History Teacher and Disciplinarian at Overbrook High School in West Philadelphia. He began teaching students how to drive part-time and on the weekends. Soon, he had taught nearly every teen in the area how to drive. Allan was the best driving instructor around. He was known for his jovial personality and relatability with his students. A stop off to grab a famous Philadelphia cheesesteak during a lesson was not out of the question – and something his students loved about him. Of course it was the 1970s and times were different then, but Cantor’s Driving School has always been about Family, Community, and Safety. As years went by, Cantor’s Driving School grew into the neighboring Philadelphia suburbs. And as his children grew, his youngest son Frank joined the family business. Learning the ins-and-outs of being a great driving instructor from his father, Frank was able to expand Cantor’s Driving School into 5 states – Pennsylvania, Florida, Nevada, Arizona, and California. Today, Frank Cantor owns and operates Cantor’s Driving School with his wife, Cheri, continuing the tradition of a family-owned and operated business.
