TOAST TEMECULA
In December 2017, we opened our doors here in the Temecula Valley. After having success at our sister restaurant, 1909 (a gastropub located in Old Town Temecula), we decided to take on a fun and new adventure in the breakfast world creating made-from-scratch dishes and offering local coffees & teas, craft beer and unique cocktails. We wanted to create a fun atmosphere that people can gather and enjoy themselves, sip on a coffee or cocktail and enjoy some good brunch all week long!
Toast is a family affair to say the least! All furniture is built by the owners, the paintings on the walls are painted by staff members of 1909 & Toast, decor designed by the owners and menus designed by our long term team members! We are proud to be a family owned restaurant and we are proud to serve all who walk through the door!

The Gruttadauria family has a long history serving desserts for over a century.
The Gruttadauria family has a long history of making Italian desserts, spanning over 100 years, and 4 generations. Our family’s traditions and recipes have gone unchanged and held up with each generation. Originating from Caltanissetta, Sicily, where our founder, Salvatore Gruttadauria, was born. Leaving his homeland, he set out for America with a book full of recipes and a a plan to open up his own Italian bakery. Coming through Ellis Island, he planned his way to Chicago for the American dream but decided to stop in Rochester, NY to visit friends and decided to stay. A year later he opened our first bakery in 1914 right away he was well known in town for his amazing cannoli’s! A recipe we still use to this day! located in downtown Rochester, NY. It wasn’t long before Salvatore met the love of his life and married Josephine Mangione. Soon after they had children, Michaelina (Lee), Salvatore Jr. (Sam) and Helen.
Being a tight-knit family, everyone baked and worked in the family business making sweets and selling our signature Italian Rum Cake a sponge cake layered with a citrus cream soaking in a sweet rum syrup!
In the 1940’s, Salvatore Sr. ill from fighting in WWI, passed on the responsibility of the bakery to his son, Sam, and daughters. Salvatore Jr., known by all as Sam, ran the bakery for over 50 years with his wife Ann. They had four kids, Sam Jr., Charles, Steven, and Mark.
All of Sam’s sons worked in the bakery, each specializing in different aspects of the bakery and becoming the staple place to get your Italian cookies with over 40 different varieties! throughout the years. In addition to the bakery, the Gruttadauria family hosted the La Fiera Italian festival one of the largest cultural festivals in NYS. In 2004, after 90 years in downtown Rochester, Stephen and Mark moved the bakery to the town of Greece, a suburb of Rochester, where Mark and his wife, Linda, and their children, Dominic and Michael worked with them.
With the fourth generation came new ideas and new opportunities. Growing up in the family business Dominic and Michael learned the trade. In 2014 Michael went to Florence, Italy to study baking and pastry for a year. In 2018, after vacationing in California, they fell in love with the Temecula area and saw an opportunity to be able to move the business out west. In June of 2018, Michael moved out to Temecula, CA to open a separate location. In January of 2019, Mark, Linda and Dominic decided to close the bakery in Rochester and come out west to join Michael. Now located in Temecula, California, the current bakery is named Gruttadauria’s 1914 Bakery in honor of the year we were established and the 100+ years our family has been making bakes goods for your customers!

Offerings
Our main focus is precise cocktail service at Thompson and Twain! For food, beer and wine we are happy to direct you to our neighboring establishments, Crush & Brew and Espadín. Our cocktail menu leans heavily towards time appropriate spirits – Rye and Bourbon Whiskey along with Gin, but we offer the full range of familiar spirits.
We pride ourselves on custom cocktail craftsmanship and will make a drink tailored to your preference based on a few questions and your direction.
WALK INS ONLY
Seating for the bar is by walk in only based upon availability. We kindly ask that parties are limited to 8 per group and that you keep your visit to two hours or less so we can make welcome other guests in our limited space. Sorry folks, but there were no phones in the 1800s and there ain't any now in our bar to accept requests or inquires regarding available seating. Please check in person with the host or lead bartender on duty for wait times or to put your name on the wait list.
Dress Code
Time period appropriate clothing or formal wear is not required but encouraged. Please leave your revolvers, carbines and blades at the door. This is a civilized saloon.
Behavior
While the Western frontier was defined by roughnecks, ruffians and general lawlessness, guests in Thompson and Twain are expected to maintain decorum and etiquette.
Inebriation, barfights, unwelcome advances, hollering, pistol duels, bounty hunting, moonshining, catcalling, cheating at cards, liar’s dice, and tobacco chewing are strictly prohibited.

While the west was known for disorder and rebellion, we abide by the local governance and require that all patrons be a minimum of 21 years of age.

Wine Country Trails by Horseback
Owner and operator Diana Lefort set out to establish a unique way for everyone to experience the beauty of Temecula Valley’s Wine Country. The result was Wine Country Trails by Horseback. Diana is a local resident whose passion and more than 3 decades of experience with horses provides a safe, relaxing and memorable experience to all riders. The rides are conducted with the highest level of professionalism and service with experienced and knowledgeable guides that work hard to exceed your expectations.
But that's not the whole story...
Over the years there has been a dramatic increase in the number of horses abused by their owners. These horses are often abandoned or just turned loose to fend for themselves, usually resulting in starvation and loss of life. Through the assistance of a local veterinarian, Diana has rehabilitated more than 50 horses. Living comfortably on a 20 acre ranch in Temecula Valley, these lovely horses get the treatment and care that they deserve while happily fulfilling a purpose once again.
Through your patronage and support we can continue to take in more of these amazing animals. All proceeds are used for feed, medical care, and farrier services. Through natural horsemanship training we can recondition, rehabilitate and retrain these horses to live a healthy and productive life. Our experienced trainers evaluate each and every horse and condition them for touring guests through the vineyards. Every rescue horse will not fit this program. Those that do not are released to carefully selected owners after completing a rigorous interview process.

Circle Oak Ranch
The Circle Oak Ranch has a great family history! Circle Oak Ranch began as bare land that was purchased in the early 1970s by Ron’s parents (Ron & his wife, Jennifer, own & operate the ranch today!). As a child, Ron & his family spent weekends and summers at the ranch as they slowly constructed the buildings that exist on the property today. Throughout Ron’s childhood, the family ranch was a retreat from their busy weekday lives in Garden Grove, CA. The property was named Circle Oak Ranch due to the many oak trees that circle the field where the grand ceremony oak stands today.
