We specialize in delicious home-baked goods with a Latin American flare. The traditional items we make are custom cakes, cupcakes, gourmet cookies, and other pastries. Our Latin American pastries are alfajores, pastelitos, sweet empanadas, gourmet conchas, cupcake conchas, and many more. We are most known for our French macarons, alfajores, and conchas. We are most proud of our ability to take traditional pastries and combine them with our Latin culture through flavors or taking traditional Latin American pastries and combine them with local flavors. Our culture is a mixture of our heritage (Peruvian, Mexican, Puerto Rican) and our upbringing (Californian) and we like to share that with our community through pastries.
At Sweet Story Company, our mission is to be more than just a local bakery – we are a bridge that connects our community to the rich tapestry of Latin American culture through the universal language of food. Rooted in our passion for culinary craftsmanship and cultural heritage, we dedicate ourselves to crafting baked goods and food that not only satisfy palates but also tell stories, evoke memories, and celebrate the vibrant diversity of Latin America.
It all started with a wife who loves to bake and a husband who loves to travel. In 2019, Ursula started baking custom cakes for friends and family. After an amazing family trip to Peru, the course of our bakery changed forever. We returned only to find ourselves craving the unique pastries and exotic fruits found only in Latin American countries. It became our mission to share our passion for the pastries and flavors of our culture with those around us. In 2021, our life took a couple of unexpected turns. We were blessed with a pregnancy and Fernando had an impending deployment scheduled. We needed help. What our family did is truly priceless and no amount of words will ever describe how grateful we feel. Family came from far and wide to keep our dream going through the birth of our baby girl and what felt like a never-ending deployment. Today, we are not just Ursula and Fernando’s Sweet Story Company. We are a veteran-owned small business. We are a bakery with a passion for introducing our culture to others through our pastries. We are a support system, a team, a family.
We believe that every bite should be an experience, a journey that transcends borders and brings people together. Our commitment is to create traditional Latin American pastries, cakes, and food with our own California twist that will resonate with the flavors of home, no matter where one’s roots lie. With each creation, we share a slice of our heritage, inviting our community to explore, savor, and connect with the mosaic of traditions that make up our Latin American identity.

A young Italian immigrant, left Italy in search of opportunity. He not only found opportunity, he found love, success and his forever future...
Charity, was born in Rhode Island to her mother Cassandra and father Lorenzo Comella, a first generation American Italian from Rhode Island. Charity grew up in Temecula, moving here in 1981.
In 2000, an Italian immigrant, Alessandro "Alex" Prestifilippo moved to Temecula after being in the states (Orange County, CA) for 4 years. Alex opened his first restaurant in America in 1999. That restaurant is Gourmet Italia, a world renowned restaurant in Temecula.
Alex and Charity met at Gourmet Italia in 2001 and fell in love immediately. They married February 2002. Alex's daughter, Mimi would be excited to hear that her brother, Luca would be born to her Papa` and new "bonus" mom in November that year. Her second brother, Logan, would be born July, 2005!
A year after Logan was born, Spuntino was born! The concept was inspired by a place in Providence, Rhode Island called Venda Ravioli!
When Spuntino opened, it was a deli, grocery, pizzeria... in that order. As the years past, the desire of the customers changed to PIZZERIA, DELI, BAR! We serve the finest quality imported Italian products, recipes and menu!
Spuntino brought the first real wood burning Italian Pizza Oven to the Temecula Valley.
In 2013 The Bar Next Door was introduced!
Charity, Alex's wife, has been very involved in opening and running several of the family businesses. She is now the founder and president of her non-profit, Charity for Charity. Mimi, Alex's daughter, manages Poggio Leano Beach Resort in Donnalucata, Sicily. Luca and Logan, the Prestifilippo sons, are going to college. Luca is a business student at Chapman University. Logan has aspirations of learning the wine industry. Ivan, Mimi's fiance, is one of the founders of Alveria brewery.

Destination Temecula Wine Tours and Experiences
Dave Wilson moved to Temecula in 1991 to serve as the opening Director of Sales and Marketing for a brand-new area hotel. At that time the entire Temecula Valley consisted of ~27,000 residents (compared to over 600,000 today), ONE stoplight and seven wineries. That same year, partnering with the then Executive Director of the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce, they created the valley’s first tourism committee, Dave chairing the initial two years. This committee ultimately segued to today’s non-profit “Visit Temecula Valley”.
Two factors crystalized his awareness of the opportunities to come and were key in Dave’s decision to take the plunge and step away from the corporate world to follow his dream to be an entrepreneur.
A tourism project he spearheaded as committee chair reinforced his awareness of the amazing mix (even at that very early stage) and breadth of area attributes attractive to visitors such as the valley’s distinct scenery and topography, weather, historical significance and area activities including golf, wine tasting and outdoor recreation. Working with a graphic artist, he conceptualized, composed all descriptive text, then sold the advertising to fund Temecula’s first two visitor’s guides.
