In 1939, Joe Albertson, a former Safeway district manager, took $5,000 he saved and $7,500 he borrowed from his wife’s Aunt Bertie, and partnered with L.S. Skaggs to open his first Albertsons store on 16th and State Streets in Boise, Idaho. Joe knew the keys of running a really great store, and it was all about working hard for the customers: give them the products they want, at a fair price, with lots of tender, loving care. Joe was innovative, too. He had one of the first in-store magazine racks in the country along with a scratch bakery and fresh ice cream made in-store. He worked hard, seven days a week, on his vision to build his company, and through his inspiring work ethic and tireless determination to run the best store, the first store thrived. Just two years later, he had opened two other stores in neighboring communities and grew the fledgling company’s sales to over $1 million by the end of 1941. Today, Albertsons operates as a banner of Albertsons Companies, one of the largest food and drug retailers in the United States. With both a strong local presence and national scale, the company operates stores across 35 states and the District of Columbia under 20 well-known banners. The Hotel Temecula
The Old WestHistoric Temecula Hotel Straight out of the Old West, the historic Hotel Temecula presents an unbroken connection with the history of Temecula. The hotel showcases museum quality artifacts tracing that history. All the hotel’s historic guest rooms are located on the second floor, where there also is one shared Gentlemans Room with 2 showers, and one shared Ladies Room with 2 showers. Old TownA Little Background The original Hotel opened the same year the Southern California Railroad first arrived in the Temecula Valley. It was built on this site in 1883 by R.J. and Mary Jane Welty. The second of the two hotels was rebuilt on this site after the first hotel was destroyed by fire in 1891. The present building was erected that same year. Both hotels were owned and operated by the Welty family for over thirty years. Later, owner Grace LeClare operated it as both an apartment house and hotel. It was purchased in 1960 by local historian Horace Parker and his wife Leverne who owned the hotel until 2014. The year it was purchased by the Beck Brothers. Only the third time since 1883 that ownership has changed hands. Taeho Kwon attended East Carolina University and majored in Commercial Arts, studying Interior Design. His goal was to construct his own designs instead of hiring other builders. To achieve this, he applied for jobs outside of the field and started working on fine carpentry. He also tried to learned everything he could from framing to exteriors, anything that would improve his skills to build his designs. After learning and practicing for 10 years, he decided to take a step further and extend his understanding of joinery. He then traveled to Korea and attended The School of Traditional Korean Architecture, earning a Certificate of Maintenance and Restoration for Korean traditional buildings. He learned to make Buddhist Temples and traditional furniture. Since then, he has spent numerous years gaining experience on the restoration and new construction of traditional Korean houses, as well as temple buildings. He focused on temples because he wanted to improve his knowledge of joinery and the secrets behind making it last for thousands of years. In a temple or a King's Palace building, there are about three times more types of joints involved than in fine furniture building. His plan has been to utilize this advanced joinery in his own furniture design, which is represented in his sitting bench/coffee table and the entry table creation. [read more]

Helio Motorized Bicycles was formed in 2009 and is the premiere motorized gas bike company in the USA. What separates our business from the rest is that we actually assemble our bikes. Most other companies sell kits and parts. This is great for the do-it-yourself home mechanic. However, if you aren’t experienced in mechanics it can be frustrating,costly and time consuming. There are many parts in the motor kits that are simply trash. Through tons of experience, we have thrown away what parts are cheap and faulty. Helio specializes in assembly (we have built hundreds), testing and tuning. We have engineered custom made parts for our Motorized Bicycles. These parts, increase dependability,quality and performance. Through trial and error, we have decided to concentrate on the 4 stroke gas motor instead of the 2 stroke. Why you ask? Go to for a write up on 2 vs. 4 stroke bicycle engines. Since we shifted to the 4 stroke, Helio has been able to concentrate on building bikes with these motors. In particular Helio has discovered ways to use both the Honda GXH50 and the smaller GX35. These motors, when mated to an American made Gearbox produce a reliable power plant. Our gas bikes get 150-250mpg and will cruise a comfortable 35mph! Helio is constantly trying to better our product with new parts and models.
