Western Interpreting Network

Our Mission We seek to set an example of excellence in providing the highest quality interpreting services available. As one of the few Deaf-owned interpreting companies, this is more than just our business; it is our responsibility. For our customers, we are committed to ensuring the best value and the best service experience. Your need to communicate effectively is important and we guarantee will send you a professional certified sign language interpreter. For our interpreters, we strive to provide the support you need, the quality teamings you deserve, the most interesting and challenging assignments available, and the fairest compensation around. For our community, our peers, it is our hope that we can ensure your unique communication needs are suitably met, every time, by an ethical and proficient service provider. History WIN was established in 2005. Eric and Moon Feris, both Deaf, decided that the standards for quality and customer service in the interpreting industry needed to be raised. So they established a company to do just that. From this single principle came our Mission. Pursuit of this Mission has led us to where WIN is today. Today, WIN serves both the local community with top-notch in-person services and the entire country in providing Video Remote Interpreting. Why Choose WIN WIN is one of just four interpreting companies in the US that are actually owned and operated by Deaf people. There are about 400 other interpreting companies in the country, but all are owned/operated by hearing people. There actually is a difference! As life-long consumers of interpreting services, Moon and Eric know firsthand the importance of quality service. The day-to-day lives of Deaf people are directly tied to this important communication link to the rest of the world. Deaf people know, based on shared experiences, that WIN is here for their community. Unlike other companies, WIN solicits direct feedback from the Deaf community to ensure that preferences and specific needs are always taken into consideration. We know that there is no such thing as a "one size fits all" interpreter. From a business perspective, using a Deaf-owned agency for your interpreting needs is important. The vast majority of interpreting dollars are spent by business and other entities to comply with disability laws. If a business is going to spend the money, it makes sense to ensure it is spent well and that a return on the investment is realized. With WIN's focus on the Deaf community, companies can be assured that we are looking to ensure effective communication outcomes -- that is what you are investing in. This is one reason why all interpreters we send you will hold nationally-recognized credentials and be bound by a strict ethical code. In addition to that, all WIN interpreters are screened for professionalism, quality, and experience. Unlike our competition, WIN will never send you an inexpert "signer," or a "pre-certified interpreter," or a "mentee," all of which is code for "not a real interpreter." WIN guarantees you an interpreter who has earned the proper credentials. If you are going to be buying interpreting services, you might as well get the best you can. And given that our charges are generally in line with industry standards, you really have no reason to go elsewhere. This passion extends to WIN's interpreters, as well. WIN recognizes interpreters as the professionals they are. Our office staff is the most courteous in the industry. You will always have a supportive and helpful dispatcher to assist you in getting work, getting TO work, and to consider your teaming needs and preferences. WIN's interpreter compensation is among the best and, for those who join our staff, the benefits unparalleled. Though we are a large agency, we retain that "family owned" feel and approach to customer service. We welcome all feedback and comments. [read more]

Sweet Story Company LLC

We specialize in delicious home-baked goods with a Latin American flare. The traditional items we make are custom cakes, cupcakes, gourmet cookies, and other pastries. Our Latin American pastries are alfajores, pastelitos, sweet empanadas, gourmet conchas, cupcake conchas, and many more. We are most known for our French macarons, alfajores, and conchas. We are most proud of our ability to take traditional pastries and combine them with our Latin culture through flavors or taking traditional Latin American pastries and combine them with local flavors. Our culture is a mixture of our heritage (Peruvian, Mexican, Puerto Rican) and our upbringing (Californian) and we like to share that with our community through pastries. At Sweet Story Company, our mission is to be more than just a local bakery – we are a bridge that connects our community to the rich tapestry of Latin American culture through the universal language of food. Rooted in our passion for culinary craftsmanship and cultural heritage, we dedicate ourselves to crafting baked goods and food that not only satisfy palates but also tell stories, evoke memories, and celebrate the vibrant diversity of Latin America. It all started with a wife who loves to bake and a husband who loves to travel. In 2019, Ursula started baking custom cakes for friends and family. After an amazing family trip to Peru, the course of our bakery changed forever. We returned only to find ourselves craving the unique pastries and exotic fruits found only in Latin American countries. It became our mission to share our passion for the pastries and flavors of our culture with those around us. In 2021, our life took a couple of unexpected turns. We were blessed with a pregnancy and Fernando had an impending deployment scheduled. We needed help. What our family did is truly priceless and no amount of words will ever describe how grateful we feel. Family came from far and wide to keep our dream going through the birth of our baby girl and what felt like a never-ending deployment. Today, we are not just Ursula and Fernando’s Sweet Story Company. We are a veteran-owned small business. We are a bakery with a passion for introducing our culture to others through our pastries. We are a support system, a team, a family. We believe that every bite should be an experience, a journey that transcends borders and brings people together. Our commitment is to create traditional Latin American pastries, cakes, and food with our own California twist that will resonate with the flavors of home, no matter where one’s roots lie. With each creation, we share a slice of our heritage, inviting our community to explore, savor, and connect with the mosaic of traditions that make up our Latin American identity. Guided by our passion, integrity, and the spirit of sharing, we strive to curate a warm and welcoming environment where people from all walks of life can gather, converse, and create memories. By offering a taste of Latin America’s culinary treasures, we aim to foster cultural appreciation, enrich lives, and build bridges that strengthen the bonds of our diverse community. Ultimately, our mission is to create more than baked goods and food; we aspire to cultivate a sense of community through the shared joy of flavors that celebrate the depth and richness of Latin American culture. At Sweet Story Company, our purpose is to empower palates and embrace cultures, leaving an indelible mark on hearts and palates alike. Our baked goods and food are meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans who share a deep appreciation for the art of baking. With a commitment to using premium ingredients and unique recipes, we ensure that each creation embodies the flavors and textures that define the essence of Latin American cuisine. Beyond the delicious flavors, we are passionate about sharing the stories and traditions that accompany each dish. Every item on our menu tells a tale of how present generations build upon traditional recipes, inviting customers to embark on a journey of cultural exploration and growth with every bite. Sweet Story Company is more than just a place to satisfy cravings; it’s a hub where individuals feel like family, where abuelita thinks you don’t eat enough and asks you why you’re not married yet. We foster a welcoming and warm atmosphere where members of the community become family. Whether it’s café con pan for breakfast, a custom cake for a special occasion, or wholesale orders for local businesses, we pride ourselves on providing personalized service that meets the unique needs of our customers. Our goal is to create memorable experiences that exceed expectations. We believe that food has the power to create lasting memories. By infusing our baked goods and food with the flavors of Latin America, we aspire to be a part of the milestones, celebrations, and everyday moments that shape the lives of our customers. Domino's Pizza

From humble beginnings as a single pizza restaurant in 1960, Domino’s has become today’s recognized world leader in pizza delivery. At Domino’s we’re all about pizza — and from the day our doors opened, we have dedicated ourselves to making and delivering delicious food with high-quality ingredients. Beyond pioneering the concept of efficiently delivering our made-to-order pizzas, we have been a part of innovations that have made a significant impact on the entire food delivery industry: Domino’s pioneered patented insulating bags to keep pizzas oven-hot during normal delivery. Domino’s created the sturdy corrugated pizza box, which keeps moisture from weakening the box and cheese from sticking to the top. Domino’s invented the 3D car-top sign, which is currently used by a variety of industries, including taxis and driving schools. We’re all about delivery ideas that make it easier and more convenient for our customers. When you think about pizza places that have delivered hot and fresh from the oven to your door, think Domino’s, because we’re constantly updating our menu to include more entrees, sides, and desserts created just for you. The Cruz Law Office

Founder and Lead Attorney at The Cruz Law Office, APC Attorney Narciso Delgado-Cruz Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, and brought to the United States at the age of two, Attorney Narciso Delgado-Cruz embodies the immigrant experience. Raised in South Central Los Angeles by humble parents, Narciso witnessed firsthand the challenges and sacrifices that come with seeking a better life in a new country. His father worked tirelessly as a gardener and later in a kitchen, often logging 50-60 hours a week, while his mother devoted herself to caring for Narciso and his seven siblings in a modest one-bedroom apartment. Growing up, Narciso’s parents instilled in him the values of hard work, education, and the pursuit of the American Dream—opportunities that were unimaginable in their native Mexico. His mother’s dreams for her children to become doctors, engineers, or lawyers fueled his determination to succeed. As the first in his family to attend college and law school, Narciso understands the obstacles that immigrant families face and the importance of perseverance. Witnessing his family’s two-decade journey to obtain legal status profoundly impacted Narciso. His father’s eventual residency not only allowed for a joyous reunion with his grandmother in Oaxaca after 20 years apart but also opened doors for better job opportunities and the freedom to live without fear. These experiences inspired Narciso to dedicate his life to helping others navigate the complex path to legal residency and citizenship Narciso earned his Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy History from the University of California, Santa Barbara, all while working full-time to support himself. He then pursued his legal education in San Diego, driven by a passion to serve the immigrant community with compassion and understanding. Since joining the California Bar in 2011, Narciso has passionately represented clients, focusing on addressing the injustices faced by undocumented immigrants, particularly in cases involving labor abuse and modern slavery under the T visa. Authorized to appear in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California and the Executive Office for Immigration Review, he brings extensive experience to every case he handles. Before founding The Cruz Law Office, APC, Narciso honed his skills at one of San Diego’s largest immigration firms. Fluent in English and Spanish, Narciso combines strong analytical skills with personalized client attention. He has built his practice primarily through satisfied clients and trusted connections within the legal community. At The Cruz Law Office, APC, he leads a dedicated team—many of whom are immigrants themselves or come from immigrant families—who understand the immigration system firsthand. For Narciso, being an advocate for immigrants is more than a profession; it’s a personal mission rooted in his own life’s journey. He is honored to help families and individuals realize their dreams of legal status in the U.S., actively defending immigrant communities, and fighting for the American Dream for all. With experience, compassion, and effectiveness, Narciso ensures that the client is always the top priority [read more]

Starbucks

Our Heritage Our story begins in 1971 along the cobblestone streets of Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. It was here where Starbucks opened its first store, offering fresh-roasted coffee beans, tea and spices from around the world for our customers to take home. Our name was inspired by the classic tale, “Moby-Dick,” evoking the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders. Ten years later, a young New Yorker named Howard Schultz would walk through these doors and become captivated with Starbucks coffee from his first sip. After joining the company in 1982, a different cobblestone road would lead him to another discovery. It was on a trip to Milan in 1983 that Howard first experienced Italy’s coffeehouses, and he returned to Seattle inspired to bring the warmth and artistry of its coffee culture to Starbucks. By 1987, we swapped our brown aprons for green ones and embarked on our next chapter as a coffeehouse. Starbucks would soon expand to Chicago and Vancouver, Canada and then on to California, Washington, D.C. and New York. By 1996, we would cross the Pacific to open our first store in Japan, followed by Europe in 1998 and China in 1999. Over the next two decades, we would grow to welcome millions of customers each week and become a part of the fabric of tens of thousands of neighborhoods all around the world. In everything we do, we are always dedicated to Our Mission: With every cup, with every conversation, with every community - we nurture the limitless possibilities of human connection. [read more]

U-Haul Moving & Storage of Murrieta

An Idea to Meet a Need Since 1945, U-Haul has been serving do-it-yourself movers and their households. Like many other successful ventures, the concept for U-Haul was generated out of need. After World War II, widespread need existed for do-it-yourself moving equipment that would be available on a one-way, nationwide basis. U-Haul co-founders L.S. "Sam" Shoen and his wife, Anna Mary Carty Shoen, recognized that need and acted upon it. Their visionary approach spread the cost of ownership among many users, facilitating the mobility of the populations of the U.S. and Canada. [read more]
