Caesars Appliance Sales & Service legacy began with the original owner Cesare Del Prato when he worked on televisions and appliances in Italy at the age of 15. He moved to California in 1960 to find work repairing appliances which landed him in Gardena, California, where he worked for an appliance repair shop mastering his trade. After a successful 10 years in Gardena, it was time for Cesare to move his wife and three children to Mission Viejo in 1970, where he started his own appliance repair business. In 1971 Cesare moved his company to Laguna Niguel offering appliance service, parts and sales to the wonderful community in which he and his family lived. He and his wife ran the business together for several years with their kids eventually expanding office personnel, shop help and field tech service. Years later Cesare Del Prato retired and passed the business onto two of the technicians that worked in the business for many years. Andrew Cabello and his team are proud to carry on Cesare’s legacy. Our Heritage Our story begins in 1971 along the cobblestone streets of Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. It was here where Starbucks opened its first store, offering fresh-roasted coffee beans, tea and spices from around the world for our customers to take home. Our name was inspired by the classic tale, “Moby-Dick,” evoking the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders. Ten years later, a young New Yorker named Howard Schultz would walk through these doors and become captivated with Starbucks coffee from his first sip. After joining the company in 1982, a different cobblestone road would lead him to another discovery. It was on a trip to Milan in 1983 that Howard first experienced Italy’s coffeehouses, and he returned to Seattle inspired to bring the warmth and artistry of its coffee culture to Starbucks. By 1987, we swapped our brown aprons for green ones and embarked on our next chapter as a coffeehouse. Starbucks would soon expand to Chicago and Vancouver, Canada and then on to California, Washington, D.C. and New York. By 1996, we would cross the Pacific to open our first store in Japan, followed by Europe in 1998 and China in 1999. Reluctantly, he was dragged along and soon realized the merits and uniqueness of the tea concept. About The Mexico Cafe In 1951, The Mexico Café was founded by Ernesto and Feliciana Gaitan in San Bernardino. With the support of her husband, Feliciana ran the operation in an era during which women in business was not a common occurrence. However, Ernesto recognized that his wife had a natural instinct for business and work ethic that is needed in any successful endeavor. He was right. Feliciana, with 5 children at home, was able to tend to her family and still catapult The Mexico Café to success. Although all 5 of her children worked at the restaurant at some point in their lives; it was her youngest son and daughter-in-law, Art and Julia, that eventually purchased the café located in the west-side of San Bernardino City and ran the operation together. In 1974, Arthur and Julia Gaitan relocated the Café to a new location which they designed and built in the north-side of San Bernardino on Highland Ave. The restaurant was a huge success and has remained an icon and one of the few longest running restaurants in the City of San Bernardino. The Gaitan Family still owns and operates the café as the fourth generation embarks on continuing the visions of their great grandparents. Since 1951, The Mexico Café has maintained it's success by adhering to the guidelines provided by its founders, Ernesto and Feliciana Gaitan; providing a clean, safe establishment that is family oriented while providing authentic Mexican cuisine.
