Fortunately, natural disasters don’t occur every day, and chances are you’ll never have to deal with water damage from rising water or flooding. However, simple plumbing leaks or overflows are far more common. While dealing with water damage may seem fairly simple (mop or wet vacuum; fans used to promote evaporation), unfortunately, this fails to consider the degree to which water can penetrate into structural cavities and assemblies, creating trapped pockets of saturation. Too late, property owners become aware of the ongoing effect of this trapped water on structural and contents materials, which may include: discoloration, warping, splitting, delamination, and musty odor, and mold growth. That’s where the certified water restoration professional comes in. He or she will be qualified through formal training and experience to remove excess water efficiently, promote efficient evaporation, and to establish the dehumidification conditions necessary to stop ongoing damage. Moreover, they can document the return of your property and contents to normal conditions to ensure that future problems will not be experienced. The Journey Begins Many years ago, Arianna Niccola Smith and her closest friends discovered a magical place for tea. They were captivated by the experience and it soon became their favorite spot for special occasions. Arianna then shared this delightful experience with her mother Claudia and sisters Shannon and Lisa, together enjoying the haven for quiet conversations, where afternoons slipped away unnoticed. The concept of tea resonated so deeply with Claudia and her daughters that they began dreaming of opening their own tea house. However, they needed to convince Allan, the father and husband, who initially had no interest in the idea. Reluctantly, he was dragged along and soon realized the merits and uniqueness of the tea concept. The Niccola family quickly recognized the significance of creating a place where people could forge meaningful relationships. They envisioned a special, serene setting where guests could enjoy each other's company. In today's stress-filled society, such a place would be truly exceptional, relevant, and healing. Allan Cantor opened the first Cantor’s Driving School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1976. This father of four was a History Teacher and Disciplinarian at Overbrook High School in West Philadelphia. He began teaching students how to drive part-time and on the weekends. Soon, he had taught nearly every teen in the area how to drive. Allan was the best driving instructor around. He was known for his jovial personality and relatability with his students. A stop off to grab a famous Philadelphia cheesesteak during a lesson was not out of the question – and something his students loved about him. Of course it was the 1970s and times were different then, but Cantor’s Driving School has always been about Family, Community, and Safety. As years went by, Cantor’s Driving School grew into the neighboring Philadelphia suburbs. And as his children grew, his youngest son Frank joined the family business. Learning the ins-and-outs of being a great driving instructor from his father, Frank was able to expand Cantor’s Driving School into 5 states – Pennsylvania, Florida, Nevada, Arizona, and California. Today, Frank Cantor owns and operates Cantor’s Driving School with his wife, Cheri, continuing the tradition of a family-owned and operated business.
