To our beloved Apparition Room guests, It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of our beloved Old Town Temecula speakeasy. Despite our hopes, we encountered significant challenges with potential new owners that ultimately led to a fallout, making it impossible for us to continue operations. As we say goodbye to the one-of-a-kind charm and vibrant energy that made our space so special, our hearts are heavy with the memories we’ve shared within these walls. If a new bar happens to take its place, it will never capture the magic that we built—the passion and vision of the original owner will be lost, and with it, the soul of what once made this place feel like home. We are truly saddened to part ways, but we will forever treasure the moments spent with our wonderful guests. Thank you for being a part of our journey; the memories we’ve created together will always hold a special place in our hearts. [read more]

The Gruttadauria family has a long history serving desserts for over a century. The Gruttadauria family has a long history of making Italian desserts, spanning over 100 years, and 4 generations. Our family’s traditions and recipes have gone unchanged and held up with each generation. Originating from Caltanissetta, Sicily, where our founder, Salvatore Gruttadauria, was born. Leaving his homeland, he set out for America with a book full of recipes and a a plan to open up his own Italian bakery. Coming through Ellis Island, he planned his way to Chicago for the American dream but decided to stop in Rochester, NY to visit friends and decided to stay. A year later he opened our first bakery in 1914 right away he was well known in town for his amazing cannoli’s! A recipe we still use to this day! located in downtown Rochester, NY. It wasn’t long before Salvatore met the love of his life and married Josephine Mangione. Soon after they had children, Michaelina (Lee), Salvatore Jr. (Sam) and Helen. Being a tight-knit family, everyone baked and worked in the family business making sweets and selling our signature Italian Rum Cake a sponge cake layered with a citrus cream soaking in a sweet rum syrup! In the 1940’s, Salvatore Sr. ill from fighting in WWI, passed on the responsibility of the bakery to his son, Sam, and daughters. Salvatore Jr., known by all as Sam, ran the bakery for over 50 years with his wife Ann. They had four kids, Sam Jr., Charles, Steven, and Mark. All of Sam’s sons worked in the bakery, each specializing in different aspects of the bakery and becoming the staple place to get your Italian cookies with over 40 different varieties! throughout the years. In addition to the bakery, the Gruttadauria family hosted the La Fiera Italian festival one of the largest cultural festivals in NYS. In 2004, after 90 years in downtown Rochester, Stephen and Mark moved the bakery to the town of Greece, a suburb of Rochester, where Mark and his wife, Linda, and their children, Dominic and Michael worked with them. With the fourth generation came new ideas and new opportunities. Growing up in the family business Dominic and Michael learned the trade. In 2014 Michael went to Florence, Italy to study baking and pastry for a year. In 2018, after vacationing in California, they fell in love with the Temecula area and saw an opportunity to be able to move the business out west. In June of 2018, Michael moved out to Temecula, CA to open a separate location. In January of 2019, Mark, Linda and Dominic decided to close the bakery in Rochester and come out west to join Michael. Now located in Temecula, California, the current bakery is named Gruttadauria’s 1914 Bakery in honor of the year we were established and the 100+ years our family has been making bakes goods for your customers! Cafes Customs is a family owned and operated business since 2019. After several years of side hustling and building his reputation, Casey "Cafe" Fernandez, took the leap of faith many dare to only dream of. Being the sole provider for his family, this was a step that brought immense pressure and fear upon him, but his faith, confidence, and family support drove him to follow his dreams. Cafe has been a certified Harley-Davidson technician, and has served the Southern California bike community since 2003. His love and enthusiasm for these machines and their riders can be seen and felt in every facet of your experience here at Cafes Customs. From the initial phone call, to the day you pick up your bike, you can be assured that your best interests are at heart. Don't believe us? Check out some of our reviews on Google or Yelp. The proof is in the pudding as they say. Cafe makes every effort to learn who you, the rider are, and what style of riding you prefer. He takes that information to then tailor a bike to your specific needs and desires. Whether it be more power, better handling, or just aesthetics, Cafe will deliver something completely unique to you, and you alone. This is what sets Cafe above the rest. He doesn't treat you as if you're on an assembly line, he truly cares and wants you to be as enthusiastic about riding as he is. It's that two-wheel life so few get, and even fewer understand. Give us a call, and book your Cafes Customs experience today!" [read more]

1967 - Waremart Foods Back in 1967, two Boise area businessmen, Ralph Ward and Bud Williams - founded a discount store in Boise, Idaho under the name of Waremart. It was a no-frills, warehouse-style grocery store focusing on low prices. The 70s As time passed, Mr. Ward purchased Mr. Williams' stake in the company and over time, Waremart grew into a small chain of grocery stores, mainly based in the Pacific Northwest. In the 1970s, WAREMART EVOLVED INTO A SUPERMARKET that became regionally famous for low prices, flat-carts and grease pencils that customers had to use to write the price on each item (two of which are gone now, but not the low prices). The Purchase of 1985 In the 1980's after the passing of Waremart's founder, there was uncertainty throughout the company and its future unknown. The employees loved the company, they loved their customers and did not want to see their stores go away. But what could they do? They were not rich investors or wealthy business owners. They were every day, hard working people that loved their place of work and loved the communities they called home. For the employees of Waremart, there was only one option - join together and take ownership of their stores. In 1985 under the guidance of then company president Bill Long, the hard working men and women of Waremart established WinCo Foods' Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and bought a controlling stake in the company from the Ward family. And so, with 17 stores owned and cared for by these hard working individuals, an employee-owned company was born. 1998 - Woodburn DC In 1998, WinCo Foods opened a new 900,000 sq ft grocery and perishable distribution center in Woodburn, Oregon. At that point, it serviced all of the stores the company owned. By having its own distribution center, WinCo Foods was able to better manage costs and product prices, along with creating hundreds of jobs in Woodburn, OR. This distribution center was a huge step in the growth that would soon take place. WINCO TRIVIA: 1 The Woodburn DC has since experienced expansion, currently sitting at over 1,000,000 sq ft. The Woodburn DC currently services WinCo stores in Oregon and Western Washington state with daily deliveries. 2 The Woodburn, DC was preceded by a warehouse in Salem, OR. 1999 - Name Change In 1999, it was time for a change and a new name. As an employee-owned company, it made sense that the company's new name came from its employees. After a company-wide contest and vote, the new name was decided - WinCo Foods. Under its new name, WinCo Foods would continue on its path to success. WINCO TRIVIA: 1 WinCo Foods still operates three employee-owned stores under the Waremart name; one in Independence, Oregon, the second one in Ontario, Oregon and third in Keizer, Oregon. 2 Prior to the name change, several stores operated under the Cub Foods® name, as part of a franchise agreement. 3 The name WinCo is a combination of the words Winning and Company Read more about our name change The 2000s - Decade of Expansion WinCo Foods would go on to open three more distribution centers and one non-food warehouse that would allow the company to focus on expansion. In 2004 the opening of a DC in Modesto, CA allowed for expansion that focused on California. in 2009, the opening of a new DC in Boise, ID allowed WinCo Foods to expand into Utah. This success would be carried over into the next decade. In 2014 WinCo Foods was able to better serve stores located in Southern California, as well as focus on its Arizona and Las Vegas expansion, by opening a distribution center located in Phoenix, AZ. WINCO TRIVIA: 1 As of the time of its completion in 2009, WinCo's Distribution Center in Boise, ID was the largest free-standing building in Idaho. 2 Do you love knowing that WinCo Foods rarely has empty shelves or is out of something? Our distribution centers and trucking fleet are to thank, making deliveries to every store at least once a day. 3 Flying in to Boise, ID? Look down as your plane makes its descent, you might see the WinCo Foods logo on top of its distribution center, large enough to fit several cars in it. 2014 - The Lone Star State By the time 2014 rolled around, WinCo Foods had already expanded into a new state twice since the purchase of 1985 (Utah in 2009 and Arizona in 2012). 2014 would mark another first, as WinCo Foods began to lay its foundation in Texas, around the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. How would Texas welcome an employee-owned store? Would customers accept bagging their own purchase, knowing that doing so helped keep prices low? Would buying from bulk bins and being able to purchase as little or as much as one needed be accepted? These and other questions were answered with a resounding positive reception, as WinCo Foods opened four new employee-owned stores in Texas, in one single year. The answer was simple, Texas loves WinCo Foods and WinCo Foods loves Texas. 2016 – The New Texas DC and OK Expansion With the beginning of 2016, WinCo Foods prepared a major move in the Texas market, as well as for its overall growth and sustainability plan by opening a state-of-the-art, 800,000 square foot distribution center in Denton, TX – the single largest economic development in the history of Denton. The move allowed WinCo Foods to fully supply all of its current and upcoming Texas stores, but also to supply all future expansion in the region. This includes the late-May 2017 opening of the company’s first store in the state of Oklahoma, in the city of Moore. This careful expansion of both the company and its distribution operations has so far resulted in superb results. The response to WinCo Foods in the Moore, OK area has led to huge crowds in the aisles and thousands of satisfied customers thrilled to get to experience The Supermarket Low Price 2017 - Certified Employee-Owned Certified Employee-OwnedAs one of the largest ESOP companies in the nation, WinCo Foods believes wholeheartedly in the benefits of employee ownership. In August of 2017, WinCo Foods continued to support the values of employee ownership, by becoming a founding member of Certified Employee-Owned, an alliance of companies dedicated to building a voice for employee ownership. Certified Employee-Owned works to unite employee-owned companies with a common brand that will raise national awareness of employee ownership and provide a source of differentiation for its members. 2019 – WinCo Enters Montana In early March of 2019, WinCo Foods made the move into Montana, opening stores concurrently in Billings and Helena – our 125th and 126th stores, respectively –bringing our signature low prices and wide open stores to the area. The impact was immediate as shoppers poured into both locations from all over the state to take advantage of the everyday bargains. WinCo is currently planning its further expansion into the state. Hi, we are Toasted Tours, previous Toasted Corks! Actually we are just Kevin & Kayla, but Toasted Tours is our thing. We have been married for 13 years, have 3 kids, and have lived in Temecula since 2017. I (Kevin) will speak for Kayla since she isn’t here to defend herself and she doesn’t manage the website, so I can write whatever I want 😘. Kayla is a walking representation of all that makes life sweet. She is a very authentic person and wears her heart on her sleeve. Her poker face is for the birds. She is so real. Warm and loving and beautiful in so many ways, she loves to connect with people and can take about 30 minutes (or .78 glasses of Sauv Blanc) to let her guard down, but when she does she lights up a room the way she lights up my life. I love her forever. A few months pre-Covid I asked for her support to take a different direction in our lives and she has stuck by me, though I have tested her far past the bounds of prudence. Kayla manages our inquiries, social media, general admin, and anything she damn well sees fit (speaking of which, I promise I’m getting to the benches babe). She is the host on Semi Toasted tours, so if we are lucky enough to earn your business you will know her well. Kayla, thank you for filling my life with the endless joy of you. Concerning the other member of the Toasted Corks team (me), I’ll describe him as… a profound pain in the you-know-what. No sugarcoat. Stubborn as a retirement age mule, gleefully nonconformist, he is compulsively trying to reinvent the wheel when the wheels we have are just fine. That may be a tad harsh… I’m not all bad. I do love to innovate and when I have an idea that lights the fires of inspiration, I get going and press on until I see it through. Thus an 18 wheeler trailer project that was sheer brutality. I drive the trailer bus, manage the executive aspects of the business, act as the sole grease monkey, and try to make it look like I know what I’m doing. The trailer bus was an idea I had to take an extremely developed, hyper practical logistics platform and tweak if for my purposes to transport people. It gives me redundancy against mechanical failures, flexibility for emissions regulations in CA, in my opinion actually contributes to passenger safety, and ends up being pretty neat for wine tours if I may say so myself. We love Temecula. We are blessed to make a living soaking up the little things that make it lovely, like our hot summer days in the vineyards with a chilled Pinot Grigio, the smell of rich earth on that consistent late afternoon breeze, and the laughter of happy, social people bubbling up around us. We think of Toasted Corks as a reflection of our personal values. What matters to us is spending time with our loved ones, working on unusual projects that we find intriguing, making friends, and participating in a community that cares for its members. So thanks to all of you who have supported this little mom and pop operation. Thanks for giving us a home. Cheers! [read more]
