Our History It’s hard to imagine, but when we opened Texas Lil’s back in January of 1987, there was just one street light and McDonald’s had not even been built! Temecula was often called Rancho California because we were not even a city but just an unincorporated area of Riverside County without a police department. Our little hometown events like the Tractor Race, Balloon & Wine Festival, Rod Run & Quilt Show, and others have grown into major tourist attractions.
