Taeho Kwon attended East Carolina University and majored in Commercial Arts, studying Interior Design. His goal was to construct his own designs instead of hiring other builders. To achieve this, he applied for jobs outside of the field and started working on fine carpentry. He also tried to learned everything he could from framing to exteriors, anything that would improve his skills to build his designs. After learning and practicing for 10 years, he decided to take a step further and extend his understanding of joinery. He then traveled to Korea and attended The School of Traditional Korean Architecture, earning a Certificate of Maintenance and Restoration for Korean traditional buildings. He learned to make Buddhist Temples and traditional furniture. Since then, he has spent numerous years gaining experience on the restoration and new construction of traditional Korean houses, as well as temple buildings. He focused on temples because he wanted to improve his knowledge of joinery and the secrets behind making it last for thousands of years. In a temple or a King's Palace building, there are about three times more types of joints involved than in fine furniture building. His plan has been to utilize this advanced joinery in his own furniture design, which is represented in his sitting bench/coffee table and the entry table creation. [read more]

Our Heritage Our story begins in 1971 along the cobblestone streets of Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. It was here where Starbucks opened its first store, offering fresh-roasted coffee beans, tea and spices from around the world for our customers to take home. Our name was inspired by the classic tale, “Moby-Dick,” evoking the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders. Ten years later, a young New Yorker named Howard Schultz would walk through these doors and become captivated with Starbucks coffee from his first sip. In 2000, an Italian immigrant, Alessandro "Alex" Prestifilippo moved to Temecula after being in the states (Orange County, CA) for 4 years. Alex opened his first restaurant in America in 1999. That restaurant is Gourmet Italia, a world renowned restaurant in Temecula. Alex and Charity met at Gourmet Italia in 2001 and fell in love immediately. They married February 2002. Alex's daughter, Mimi would be excited to hear that her brother, Luca would be born to her Papa` and new "bonus" mom in November that year. Her second brother, Logan, would be born July, 2005! A year after Logan was born, Spuntino was born! The concept was inspired by a place in Providence, Rhode Island called Venda Ravioli! When Spuntino opened, it was a deli, grocery, pizzeria... in that order. As the years past, the desire of the customers changed to PIZZERIA, DELI, BAR! We serve the finest quality imported Italian products, recipes and menu! Spuntino brought the first real wood burning Italian Pizza Oven to the Temecula Valley. In 2013 The Bar Next Door was introduced! Charity, Alex's wife, has been very involved in opening and running several of the family businesses. She is now the founder and president of her non-profit, Charity for Charity. Mimi, Alex's daughter, manages Poggio Leano Beach Resort in Donnalucata, Sicily.
