Taeho Kwon attended East Carolina University and majored in Commercial Arts, studying Interior Design. His goal was to construct his own designs instead of hiring other builders. To achieve this, he applied for jobs outside of the field and started working on fine carpentry. He also tried to learned everything he could from framing to exteriors, anything that would improve his skills to build his designs. After learning and practicing for 10 years, he decided to take a step further and extend his understanding of joinery. He then traveled to Korea and attended The School of Traditional Korean Architecture, earning a Certificate of Maintenance and Restoration for Korean traditional buildings. He learned to make Buddhist Temples and traditional furniture. Since then, he has spent numerous years gaining experience on the restoration and new construction of traditional Korean houses, as well as temple buildings. He focused on temples because he wanted to improve his knowledge of joinery and the secrets behind making it last for thousands of years. In a temple or a King's Palace building, there are about three times more types of joints involved than in fine furniture building. His plan has been to utilize this advanced joinery in his own furniture design, which is represented in his sitting bench/coffee table and the entry table creation. [read more]

Hi, I'm Pia. I started Artisan's Palate in June 2013. When we first opened, I curated a variety of artisan products primarily from local talent. What was most important to me at the time was that the items I chose had to taste good. That was easy for me to decide since I was a self-professed foodie, and felt I was an experienced judge based on my world travels, and my penchant for entertaining. Well, I was wrong! I was choosing a lot of product that had one thing in common; SUGAR! And, a lot of it, from chocolate to cupcakes, and spreads to sauces. Then I realized these items had other things in common, like soy and wheat. My mind was still thinking that soy and wheat were healthy alternatives, and as long as it's cane sugar and not high fructose corn syrup, then it's okay. I was completely indoctrinated in the industrial food system and didn't even know it! As I continued to peddle over-priced, sugar fueled items, I started to listen to my customers and most importantly learn. I learned the most important lesson to date, HAVE AN OPEN MIND. I could have easily continued with what I was doing but I didn't. I changed my way of eating and that of my husband's progressively ever since. Artisan's Palate, saved my life! Since then, we've experienced tremendous growth and we are proud to say that we are influencing and helping others every single day. There is no greater feeling than knowing that my customers and some of my family members are open to change and they're making a real difference on their health journey. I still curate, I just don't curate items that have junk industrial ingredients. The store represents my journey, so I'm always bringing in new items. What hasn't changed is that the items still have to taste great, if they don't, then they don't get put on the shelf. Come and visit us, and start your health journey. Each week features a variety of musicians as well as several services such as knife and tool sharpening, and massage. The market has over 600 free parking spaces. The Vista Farmers Market is located at the San Diego County Courthouse, 345 South Melrose Drive, Vista, CA 92083, just south of Highway 78. The market is open every month, every week, every Saturday – regardless of the weather – from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon. We’ve been operating since 1981 and are first farmers market in the county and one of the oldest markets in the state. The Vista Farmers Market consists of FIVE marketplaces. There is the Food Specialties Marketplace which consists of foodmakers and farmers who produce what they sell . . . whether bread, baked goods, pesto, honey, almonds, or cheese.
