Hi, I'm Pia. I started Artisan's Palate in June 2013. When we first opened, I curated a variety of artisan products primarily from local talent. What was most important to me at the time was that the items I chose had to taste good. That was easy for me to decide since I was a self-professed foodie, and felt I was an experienced judge based on my world travels, and my penchant for entertaining. Well, I was wrong! I was choosing a lot of product that had one thing in common; SUGAR! And, a lot of it, from chocolate to cupcakes, and spreads to sauces. Then I realized these items had other things in common, like soy and wheat. My mind was still thinking that soy and wheat were healthy alternatives, and as long as it's cane sugar and not high fructose corn syrup, then it's okay. I was completely indoctrinated in the industrial food system and didn't even know it! As I continued to peddle over-priced, sugar fueled items, I started to listen to my customers and most importantly learn. I learned the most important lesson to date, HAVE AN OPEN MIND. I could have easily continued with what I was doing but I didn't. I changed my way of eating and that of my husband's progressively ever since. Artisan's Palate, saved my life! Since then, we've experienced tremendous growth and we are proud to say that we are influencing and helping others every single day. There is no greater feeling than knowing that my customers and some of my family members are open to change and they're making a real difference on their health journey. I still curate, I just don't curate items that have junk industrial ingredients. The store represents my journey, so I'm always bringing in new items. What hasn't changed is that the items still have to taste great, if they don't, then they don't get put on the shelf. Come and visit us, and start your health journey. The Vista Farmers Market features over 50 farmers selling what they grow; local, certified, and organic growers with in-season produce. Actual, real farmers with an abundance of avocados, persimmons, apples, oranges, strawberries, peaches, and other fruits and vegetables. Farmers also sell dates, eggs, nuts, juices, honey, cheeses, sausages, plants, wool, flowers, and grass-fed meats. In addition, there are more than 40 foodmakers — prepared food artisans that sell fresh bread and other baked goods such as pies, cupcakes, and cookies, as well as sauces, salsas, dips, and pickles. All are available fresh each week. There are 14 countries’ foods represented in the hot food vendors serving breakfast and lunch. Over a dozen makers and crafters attend each week with their soap, pottery, clothing, hats, jewelry, gifts, dog treats, and more. Each week features a variety of musicians as well as several services such as knife and tool sharpening, and massage. The market has over 600 free parking spaces. The Vista Farmers Market is located at the San Diego County Courthouse, 345 South Melrose Drive, Vista, CA 92083, just south of Highway 78. The market is open every month, every week, every Saturday – regardless of the weather – from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon. We’ve been operating since 1981 and are first farmers market in the county and one of the oldest markets in the state. The Vista Farmers Market consists of FIVE marketplaces. There is the Food Specialties Marketplace which consists of foodmakers and farmers who produce what they sell . . . whether bread, baked goods, pesto, honey, almonds, or cheese. A young Italian immigrant, left Italy in search of opportunity. He not only found opportunity, he found love, success and his forever future... Charity, was born in Rhode Island to her mother Cassandra and father Lorenzo Comella, a first generation American Italian from Rhode Island. Charity grew up in Temecula, moving here in 1981. In 2000, an Italian immigrant, Alessandro "Alex" Prestifilippo moved to Temecula after being in the states (Orange County, CA) for 4 years. Alex opened his first restaurant in America in 1999. That restaurant is Gourmet Italia, a world renowned restaurant in Temecula. Alex and Charity met at Gourmet Italia in 2001 and fell in love immediately. They married February 2002. Alex's daughter, Mimi would be excited to hear that her brother, Luca would be born to her Papa` and new "bonus" mom in November that year. Her second brother, Logan, would be born July, 2005! A year after Logan was born, Spuntino was born! The concept was inspired by a place in Providence, Rhode Island called Venda Ravioli! When Spuntino opened, it was a deli, grocery, pizzeria... in that order. As the years past, the desire of the customers changed to PIZZERIA, DELI, BAR! We serve the finest quality imported Italian products, recipes and menu! Spuntino brought the first real wood burning Italian Pizza Oven to the Temecula Valley. In 2013 The Bar Next Door was introduced! Charity, Alex's wife, has been very involved in opening and running several of the family businesses. She is now the founder and president of her non-profit, Charity for Charity. Mimi, Alex's daughter, manages Poggio Leano Beach Resort in Donnalucata, Sicily. Luca and Logan, the Prestifilippo sons, are going to college. Luca is a business student at Chapman University. Logan has aspirations of learning the wine industry.
