The Secret Tesla Master Plan (Just Between You and Me) Elon Musk, Co-Founder and CEO of Tesla Motors, August 2, 2006 As you know, Tesla's first product was a high-performance electric sports car called the Tesla Roadster. However, some readers may not be aware that our long-term plan is to produce different models of cars, including affordable family cars. This is because the primary purpose of Tesla (and the reason I invested in the company) is to help advance the transition from an economy based on the extraction and combustion of hydrocarbon fuels to a solar electric economy. I believe this is the main solution for sustainable development, though not the only one. To achieve this goal, it is crucial to produce electric vehicles without compromise. The purpose of the Tesla Roadster is to directly face and defeat gasoline-powered sports cars like those from Porsche or Ferrari. Moreover, on top of that, its energy efficiency is twice that of the Prius. Nevertheless, some people still ask what good this does for the world. Do we really need another high-performance sports car? Can it really have an impact on the global carbon emissions problem? Well, the answer is no, not much. But that's not the point, unless you understand the secret master plan mentioned at the beginning of this article. Almost all new technologies initially have a high unit cost and will gradually be improved over time, and this is also true for electric vehicles. Tesla's strategy is to enter the high-end market, where consumers are willing to pay a higher price. Then, with the launch of each subsequent model, we aim to move towards a larger market as quickly as possible with greater production volume and lower prices. I can say that our second model will be a four-door sports family car, priced at around half of the Tesla Roadster's price ($89,000), while sacrificing not too many other features. And the price of the third model will be even more affordable. As a rapidly growing technology company, all of our free cash flow is invested in research and development to reduce costs and bring subsequent products to market as soon as possible. When someone buys a Tesla Roadster sports car, they are actually helping to cover the development costs of the family car. [read more]

Welcome Our story begins when founder, Jim Carter, was an eight-year old growing up in Ohio. He would gather seeds from the maple tree outside his home and plant them in his relatives' yards. This was an early indication that Jim loved digging in the earth and watching things grow. In 1981, Jim's father introduced him to a pristine region in Southern California with views for miles of the valley below. Perhaps he reminded Jim of his love for growing things as he encouraged him to purchase 400 acres here, which would later become our award-winning vineyards in the Southern California Temecula Valley. In the mid 1990's Jim was at the movies, watching "A Walk in the Clouds." The classic vineyards that set the scene reminded Jim of his Southern California land. And the story of our Temecula winery resort and spa truly began. Jim analyzed the water, soil and climate. Finding the conditions ideal, he started digging in the earth once more. He planted and nurtured the finest grapes with his own hands and the help of a hard-working team. Expert winemakers joined the team to create the wines that would establish the Temecula winery's reputation. Becoming a vintner inspired another chapter in Jim's story: building South Coast Winery Resort & Spa. Complete with villas, a restaurant and a spa situated in the middle of 63 acres, his story continues to grow, much like the vines he first planted. As Jim tells it, "I wanted to share the complete wine country experience. Guests not only enjoy the finest wines paired with the finest foods, but they stay in a private villa right in the middle of a vineyard. About Us & Pricing TL Custom Cakes & Desserts is a licensed home bakery in Murrieta, CA (Riverside County PR0088438). We specialize in custom floral buttercream cakes for weddings and special events. We also provide services for catering special occasions and corporate events. All cakes are priced at $10 per serving including cake and design (delivery is separate). The minimum order for cakes is $275, and for cupcakes is $240. We do not offer sheet cakes however, we recommend choosing large rounds or squares to bring servings up to guest count requirements as needed. All desserts are priced at $10 per person, which includes three mini-bite desserts per person. The minimum order for catering is $750 Delivery is $50 within a 10-mile radius of my home in Murrieta, CA. If additional miles are needed, we charge $2 per round-trip mile. We service the following counties: Riverside, San Diego, Orange, and some parts of Los Angeles. Please provide your delivery address in your inquiry so a quote can be given. For cakes that are larger than 2 tiers, delivery is required. Cake tastings are $100 for an 8-piece box set. Single flavors are $13 each.
