Our Heritage Our story begins in 1971 along the cobblestone streets of Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. It was here where Starbucks opened its first store, offering fresh-roasted coffee beans, tea and spices from around the world for our customers to take home. Our name was inspired by the classic tale, “Moby-Dick,” evoking the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders. Ten years later, a young New Yorker named Howard Schultz would walk through these doors and become captivated with Starbucks coffee from his first sip. After joining the company in 1982, a different cobblestone road would lead him to another discovery. It was on a trip to Milan in 1983 that Howard first experienced Italy’s coffeehouses, and he returned to Seattle inspired to bring the warmth and artistry of its coffee culture to Starbucks. By 1987, we swapped our brown aprons for green ones and embarked on our next chapter as a coffeehouse. Starbucks would soon expand to Chicago and Vancouver, Canada and then on to California, Washington, D.C. and New York. By 1996, we would cross the Pacific to open our first store in Japan, followed by Europe in 1998 and China in 1999. Over the next two decades, we would grow to welcome millions of customers each week and become a part of the fabric of tens of thousands of neighborhoods all around the world. Bicycle Warehouse opened it's doors for the first time on July 4th, 1992. Back then we were called Mountain Bike Warehouse because that's all we sold. As we grew so did our selection of bikes and we became Bicycle Warehouse.Our original store is still getting tons of butts on bikes. The big metal warehouse building (you can probably guess where we got our name from) has become a familiar sight along Interstate 5 in Pacific Beach to nearly everyone in San Diego County. We've grown a lot with a bunch of stores and other related businesses in our portfolio now, but our mission is the same "to inspire your passion to ride so you enjoy more fitness, freedom and fun". Owner and operator Diana Lefort set out to establish a unique way for everyone to experience the beauty of Temecula Valley’s Wine Country. The result was Wine Country Trails by Horseback. Diana is a local resident whose passion and more than 3 decades of experience with horses provides a safe, relaxing and memorable experience to all riders. The rides are conducted with the highest level of professionalism and service with experienced and knowledgeable guides that work hard to exceed your expectations. But that's not the whole story... Over the years there has been a dramatic increase in the number of horses abused by their owners. These horses are often abandoned or just turned loose to fend for themselves, usually resulting in starvation and loss of life. Through the assistance of a local veterinarian, Diana has rehabilitated more than 50 horses. Living comfortably on a 20 acre ranch in Temecula Valley, these lovely horses get the treatment and care that they deserve while happily fulfilling a purpose once again. Through your patronage and support we can continue to take in more of these amazing animals. All proceeds are used for feed, medical care, and farrier services. Through natural horsemanship training we can recondition, rehabilitate and retrain these horses to live a healthy and productive life. Our experienced trainers evaluate each and every horse and condition them for touring guests through the vineyards. Every rescue horse will not fit this program. Studio 4 Ceramics is a sister company to CR Studio 4, which is a production ceramic and metal Art tile studio. We've been in business for over twenty eight years. The owners, Cy & Robin Vojak both have degrees in art and love creating with clay. Our ceramic tile studio produces beautiful hand made tile during the day, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. We then transform our tile production facility into an environment perfect for creating with clay. We have 8 pottery wheels and lots of table space. Our studio has 2- 80 cubic ft. gas kilns (yes that's huge) and a smaller 18 cubic ft gas kiln. We also have a Raku kiln and two electric kilns.
