Our Story Stater Bros. Markets is rooted in the American tradition and proudly celebrates a rich legacy of service to this great nation. Tracing its beginnings back to a small grocery store in Yucaipa, CA, twin brothers and World War II veterans Cleo and Leo Stater purchased the original Stater Bros. Market from W.A. Davis with a $600 down payment. In the midst of the Great Depression, Stater Bros. officially opened for business on August 17, 1936. Headquartered in San Bernardino, CA, Stater Bros. Temecula Valley Cable Car Wine Tours
In May of 2006, Mike and Debbie, the owner-operators of Temecula Valley Cable Car Wine Tours had purchased a motorized 1914 San Francisco cable car. Debbie was reluctant of the purchase because of the shape it was in, but Mike could visualize a restored cable car running through Temecula and he couldn’t wait to restore the car to its former glory! It took over two years to refurbish and fully-restore the cable car to its original conditions, but with a lot of patience, sandpaper, paint, and mechanical parts, the cable car was restored and set off to cruise through the beautiful Temecula wine country. Our San Francisco cable car is the only historical moving monument left in the United States, and even though the cable car is motorized, passengers will experience the feel and essence of San Francisco as they experience Temecula Valley wine country!
