Our Heritage Our story begins in 1971 along the cobblestone streets of Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. It was here where Starbucks opened its first store, offering fresh-roasted coffee beans, tea and spices from around the world for our customers to take home. Our name was inspired by the classic tale, “Moby-Dick,” evoking the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders. Ten years later, a young New Yorker named Howard Schultz would walk through these doors and become captivated with Starbucks coffee from his first sip. Vince’s Spaghetti restaurants are the only restaurants for Real Italian Spaghetti. When Vince’s Spaghetti first opened in Ontario, California in September 1945; it was a simple, six stool, open air restaurant without a kitchen. Back then, Grandma Rose prepared all of the food in her kitchen 50 yards away and hand carried it to the customers. The original Vince’s Spaghetti was located on Highway 70-99, which was the main road to Palm Springs at the time. The business was run by three brothers and their wives. By 1968, Vince’s was billed as the largest spaghetti restaurant west of the Mississippi River (with a kitchen!), seating more than 400 people. Besides the practice of Administrative law relevant to John P. O’Connell’s business and development projects, John P. O’Connell has represented other investment and business groups through the administrative law process of TUPS, CUPS, administration hearings and appeals. From 1999-2005, John P. O’Connell acted as in-house counsel and principal in various commercial projects including real estate development and construction in Orange County, Riverside County, Kern County, San Diego County and Mexico.
