The Board Source
Board Source Owner/Founder: Born and raised in the small “funky” beach town, Leucadia CA in North San Diego County. Growing up, Jon surfed daily, skated, rode BMX, and even raced motocross professionally. A dad raising two kids, Jon kept his love for surfing even when times were tough. In 2014-ish Jon was broke and at a crossroads as he phased out of his real estate career. He started buying used surfboards, patching them up, and reselling them after a few sessions. It was fun selling surfboards to friends and neighbors while getting to try out a variety of different models and designs. Investing what little profit he made into buying more and more surfboards, Jon was now selling 100 boards out of his parent’s garage in Leucadia. The Board Source was born. The business rapidly outgrew the garage much to the chagrin of the neighbors. Not interested in the traditional surf shop model, Jon chose the current warehouse location in Carlsbad, CA. 800 square feet felt like plenty of space. It was not… thousands of surfboards later, the Board Source now occupies 5,000 square feet with an ever-rotating stock of 600+ new and used surfboards. Present day, Jon dawn patrols every morning with his now adult son and daughter and surfs and travels with his surfer wife, Kira. No longer a one-man show, Jon has recruited some of the best in the surfboard business to handle the day-to-day operations. His number one goal is a high level of customer service to create the ultimate board-buying experience. “My team has now taken my shop to a whole new level. Temecula Valley Cable Car Wine Tours
In May of 2006, Mike and Debbie, the owner-operators of Temecula Valley Cable Car Wine Tours had purchased a motorized 1914 San Francisco cable car. Debbie was reluctant of the purchase because of the shape it was in, but Mike could visualize a restored cable car running through Temecula and he couldn’t wait to restore the car to its former glory! It took over two years to refurbish and fully-restore the cable car to its original conditions, but with a lot of patience, sandpaper, paint, and mechanical parts, the cable car was restored and set off to cruise through the beautiful Temecula wine country. Our San Francisco cable car is the only historical moving monument left in the United States, and even though the cable car is motorized, passengers will experience the feel and essence of San Francisco as they experience Temecula Valley wine country! Our Heritage Our story begins in 1971 along the cobblestone streets of Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. It was here where Starbucks opened its first store, offering fresh-roasted coffee beans, tea and spices from around the world for our customers to take home. Our name was inspired by the classic tale, “Moby-Dick,” evoking the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders. I get asked all the time how I got started grinding camshafts and building engines. I learned my love of grinding camshafts from my dad, legendary Drag Racing Hall of Famer H. Bruce Crower. As a kid I knew I wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps as soon as he started teaching me about engines. I’ve spent the last two decades grinding camshafts, building engines and testing in order to come up with the best camshaft grinds to meet my customers’ demands. We couldn’t be where we are now without working across the board with many different types of racing applications. Working with different engine configurations, engine builders and race series during the last 20+ years has helped me to develop a catalog of camshaft masters that can be applied to almost any camshaft for almost any four-stroke configuration. This catalog of masters has helped grow our product line to include Automotive, Off Road, Marine, Motorcycle, ATV, UTV and Custom ground camshafts. With over 130 of our own camshaft part numbers we usually have a camshaft to meet any customers’ needs.
