Sarika’s journey into acupuncture began after a life-changing experience. At age 19, she suffered severe injuries from a car accident, leaving her with chronic pain and the inability to use her left arm. It was Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that provided her with the greatest relief and hope. This transformative experience became the driving force behind her purpose: to bring the healing power of TCM to her community. Sarika pursued and achieved her Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the prestigious Yo San University in Culver City, CA, where she focused on Orthopedics and Women’s Health. Coming from a family with a long history of TCM practitioners, Sarika is proud to be the 38th generation healer in her lineage. Through her practice, Soma Acupuncture & Wellness, she specializes in treating Chronic Conditions, including Neuropathy, as well as Sports Medicine and Women’s Health and Reproductive Medicine. Sarika is also currently enrolled in the Post-Graduate Sports Medicine Acupuncture (C.SMA) Certification Program and is a Doctoral Candidate at Yo San University’s DAOM Program. Temecula Valley Soccer Association
Temecula Valley Soccer Association is rich in the history of soccer in Temecula as well as the history of soccer in Southern California. Born in or around 1985, TVSA has grown with the city and the valley and has provided a recreational league for an estimated 100,000 youth players over the past 30 years. The league was founded by Willie Marschand as a place for the youth of Temecula to play the game of soccer in a fun and safe environment. Throughout the years, TVSA continued to provide the youth of Temecula with an affordable avenue to play soccer and was officially incorporated in 1993. At this time, the City of Temecula established the Sports Council and granted TVSA official status as a recognized league. This designation was important for the growth of the league and afforded the league the ability to have lighted fields for both Fall and Spring seasons. The mission of providing affordable and safe soccer for the youth of Temecula has been a pillar of the organization since its inception. It is that core value to has made TVSA one of the more successful and recognized recreational leagues in Cal South and District 5. TVSA has been named League of the Year, League of Excellence and many other distinctions. It started as an all volunteer organization and it still is an all volunteer organization to this day. The spirit of volunteerism is also a cornerstone of TVSA and the organization works hard to give back to the community. TVSA have a vibrant TOPs program for the city’s youth with special needs. TVSA and its members have donated money, time and goods to local organizations and continue to do so. TVSA are looking to provide annual monetary scholarships for graduating seniors at the 3 local high schools. The current BOD and its committee members would like to recognize all of those who served this organization and its members and instilled the mission and values that we continue to strive to uphold. Board Source Owner/Founder: Born and raised in the small “funky” beach town, Leucadia CA in North San Diego County. Growing up, Jon surfed daily, skated, rode BMX, and even raced motocross professionally. A dad raising two kids, Jon kept his love for surfing even when times were tough. In 2014-ish Jon was broke and at a crossroads as he phased out of his real estate career. He started buying used surfboards, patching them up, and reselling them after a few sessions. It was fun selling surfboards to friends and neighbors while getting to try out a variety of different models and designs. Investing what little profit he made into buying more and more surfboards, Jon was now selling 100 boards out of his parent’s garage in Leucadia. The Board Source was born. The business rapidly outgrew the garage much to the chagrin of the neighbors. Not interested in the traditional surf shop model, Jon chose the current warehouse location in Carlsbad, CA. 800 square feet felt like plenty of space. It was not… thousands of surfboards later, the Board Source now occupies 5,000 square feet with an ever-rotating stock of 600+ new and used surfboards. Present day, Jon dawn patrols every morning with his now adult son and daughter and surfs and travels with his surfer wife, Kira. No longer a one-man show, Jon has recruited some of the best in the surfboard business to handle the day-to-day operations.
