OUR STORY Owner, Meghan Mercier, was 23 when she flew South to escape the cold New Hampshire winter to sunny San Diego where her passion for health and wellness took flight. Meghan’s passionate pursuit of knowledge is a core value of The Loose Leaf, breeding a desire to share our experiences and solutions to all who cross our path. The Loose Leaf’s origins started off at The Natural Healing Institute of Naturopathy in Encinitas where Meghan became a Master Herbalist. Meghan put this knowledge to practice developing tea blends offering her friends and family an alternative to types of modern medicine via tasty teas! For two and a half years Meghan continued to expand her knowledge of natural therapies working for a wellness clinic in Carlsbad, and in 2008 The Loose Leaf was born. Meghan’s mission is clean organic tea with no preservatives or unnatural flavor that doesn’t only taste good, but is packed with powerful healing properties. Using only organic Fair Trade certified ingredients The Loose Leaf’s teas are all locally hand blended in Oceanside seeking to truly enable people to take their health into their own hands.
