Seniors are often looked at as easy targets by some who are looking to make a quick sale, and that has made many in the community wary of doing business with anyone that uses high-pressure tactics. We try to cultivate our place in the community as a provider for their flooring needs now and in the future, and not in pursuit of a quick, one-time transaction. Customers shop with us because they are in need of some variant of flooring. Our knowledge of the industry and the products we have available give us a real leg-up against our competitors. I have been in the orbit of this industry my entire life, and my father has been in flooring for going on 40 years. We started the business in the summer of 2008. Most will agree that year was probably the least hospitable year in memory for commercial enterprise. Ours was a genesis of necessity; flooring stores were closing everywhere, and, as a flooring contractor, we needed to generate business any way we could. The first few years were very rough. Weeks would go by when we saw only a handful of customers walk through our doors. As we generated more and more of a foothold in the local community, we started to receive references from previous clients, and that got us through the tumultuous economy into which we first opened our doors.
