Received a B.S. and J.D. degrees from Western State University School of Law and was admitted to the California Bar in 1983. Professional Career: After admission to the California Bar in 1983, John P. O’Connell went into private Civil Law Practice in Newport Beach, CA with a focus on Personal Injury and Business Law. In 1987, John P. O’Connell became CEO and "in house" Counsel of a Southern California Floral Company developing Floral Marketing and Retail Operations for the Western United State’s Supermarket Industry. During the period of 1989 to 1999, John P. O’Connell introduced Cut Flower Supply Channels from Columbia and Ecuador to the Western United States Mass Market. In 1992, John P. O’Connell formed and headed up a Mexican Maquiladora Company, with operations in Tecate, Mexico under the United States/Mexico NAFTA Accord. The Tecate based Maquiladora imported cut flowers from Central and South America in to Mexico under bond for processing, finishing and shipment to the United States markets. From 1992 to 1997, John P. O’Connell served on the Board of Directors of the Southern California Fresh Produce and Floral Council, a Southern California based trade Association. In 1996 to 1997, he served as President of the Association. In 1997 to 1998, John P. O’Connell chaired a Political Action Committee to oppose and defeat Federal Legislation designed to impose an industry surcharge on all cut flower products imported and sold in the United States. Besides the practice of Administrative law relevant to John P. O’Connell’s business and development projects, John P. O’Connell has represented other investment and business groups through the administrative law process of TUPS, CUPS, administration hearings and appeals. From 1999-2005, John P. O’Connell acted as in-house counsel and principal in various commercial projects including real estate development and construction in Orange County, Riverside County, Kern County, San Diego County and Mexico. Other business projects during this period include development of an Automotive Center and Retail Operations throughout Southern California. In 2005, John P. O’Connell went back into private law practice with the opening of offices in South Orange County and Temecula. John P. O’Connell’s practice today is a business law practice with emphasis on Business and Real Estate litigation, Business and Real Estate transactions, Bankruptcy, Tax, and Administrative law. John P. O’Connell’s client representation is strengthened and enhanced by 30 years of professional, business and investment experience. John P. O’Connell lives in Murrieta with his wife Kathleen. The Hotel Temecula
The Old WestHistoric Temecula Hotel Straight out of the Old West, the historic Hotel Temecula presents an unbroken connection with the history of Temecula. The hotel showcases museum quality artifacts tracing that history. All the hotel’s historic guest rooms are located on the second floor, where there also is one shared Gentlemans Room with 2 showers, and one shared Ladies Room with 2 showers. Old TownA Little Background The original Hotel opened the same year the Southern California Railroad first arrived in the Temecula Valley. It was built on this site in 1883 by R.J. and Mary Jane Welty. The second of the two hotels was rebuilt on this site after the first hotel was destroyed by fire in 1891. The present building was erected that same year. Both hotels were owned and operated by the Welty family for over thirty years. Later, owner Grace LeClare operated it as both an apartment house and hotel. It was purchased in 1960 by local historian Horace Parker and his wife Leverne who owned the hotel until 2014. The year it was purchased by the Beck Brothers. Only the third time since 1883 that ownership has changed hands. The story begins in Prescott, Arizona... The Jesus People Movement was sweeping America and multitudes of young people were being profoundly saved and converted to Christ. While many of the traditional churches closed their doors to the long haired, denim clad hippies, Pastor Wayman Mitchell received them with open arms. Pastor Mitchells solid grounding in the Word of God and his passion to take the Gospel into all the world was soon imparted in to the hearts of many zealous new converts. In a few short years, several young couples were launched into surrounding cities to pioneer new churches. In 1976, following the pattern that had been set in Prescott AZ, a couple was sent into Tempe, AZ to begin a new church. From there a couple was sent into San Diego, CA. Another church was formed when San Diego sent a couple into Imperial Beach, CA. It was in the Imperial Beach church that Uriel Servin Jr was saved, baptized, and was eventually sent to assume leadership of the church in Temecula, CA from Pastor Justin Carl who answered the call to go to Betim, Brazil.
