Brad Basham had built an institution in San Clemente's bustling Los Molinos "Surf Getto." The owner and proprietor of Basham's Factory and Surf Shop, Basham's business was the hub of the board-building scene. Selling everything from surfboard blanks to sanpaper to fin plugs for anyone who wanted to make a surfboard, Basham's is the place to go for supplies. A quiet, humble figurehead of the San Clemente since the early 1970's he shied away from the spotlight, content to focus his energies on his business and making those around him better. He's remembered for his kindness and generous heart. Giving so many local shapers a place to launch their careers, it was because of Basham's support and guidance that big-time shapers today such as Timmy Patterson, Matt Biolos and Tyler Warren were able to get their start. The Gruttadauria family has a long history serving desserts for over a century. The Gruttadauria family has a long history of making Italian desserts, spanning over 100 years, and 4 generations. Our family’s traditions and recipes have gone unchanged and held up with each generation. Originating from Caltanissetta, Sicily, where our founder, Salvatore Gruttadauria, was born. Leaving his homeland, he set out for America with a book full of recipes and a a plan to open up his own Italian bakery. Coming through Ellis Island, he planned his way to Chicago for the American dream but decided to stop in Rochester, NY to visit friends and decided to stay. A year later he opened our first bakery in 1914 right away he was well known in town for his amazing cannoli’s! A recipe we still use to this day! located in downtown Rochester, NY. It wasn’t long before Salvatore met the love of his life and married Josephine Mangione. Soon after they had children, Michaelina (Lee), Salvatore Jr. (Sam) and Helen. Being a tight-knit family, everyone baked and worked in the family business making sweets and selling our signature Italian Rum Cake a sponge cake layered with a citrus cream soaking in a sweet rum syrup! In the 1940’s, Salvatore Sr. ill from fighting in WWI, passed on the responsibility of the bakery to his son, Sam, and daughters. Salvatore Jr., known by all as Sam, ran the bakery for over 50 years with his wife Ann. They had four kids, Sam Jr., Charles, Steven, and Mark. All of Sam’s sons worked in the bakery, each specializing in different aspects of the bakery and becoming the staple place to get your Italian cookies with over 40 different varieties! throughout the years. In addition to the bakery, the Gruttadauria family hosted the La Fiera Italian festival one of the largest cultural festivals in NYS. In 2004, after 90 years in downtown Rochester, Stephen and Mark moved the bakery to the town of Greece, a suburb of Rochester, where Mark and his wife, Linda, and their children, Dominic and Michael worked with them. With the fourth generation came new ideas and new opportunities. Growing up in the family business Dominic and Michael learned the trade. In 2014 Michael went to Florence, Italy to study baking and pastry for a year. In 2018, after vacationing in California, they fell in love with the Temecula area and saw an opportunity to be able to move the business out west. In June of 2018, Michael moved out to Temecula, CA to open a separate location. In January of 2019, Mark, Linda and Dominic decided to close the bakery in Rochester and come out west to join Michael. Now located in Temecula, California, the current bakery is named Gruttadauria’s 1914 Bakery in honor of the year we were established and the 100+ years our family has been making bakes goods for your customers! Founder and Lead Attorney at The Cruz Law Office, APC Attorney Narciso Delgado-Cruz Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, and brought to the United States at the age of two, Attorney Narciso Delgado-Cruz embodies the immigrant experience. Raised in South Central Los Angeles by humble parents, Narciso witnessed firsthand the challenges and sacrifices that come with seeking a better life in a new country. His father worked tirelessly as a gardener and later in a kitchen, often logging 50-60 hours a week, while his mother devoted herself to caring for Narciso and his seven siblings in a modest one-bedroom apartment. Growing up, Narciso’s parents instilled in him the values of hard work, education, and the pursuit of the American Dream—opportunities that were unimaginable in their native Mexico. His mother’s dreams for her children to become doctors, engineers, or lawyers fueled his determination to succeed. As the first in his family to attend college and law school, Narciso understands the obstacles that immigrant families face and the importance of perseverance. Witnessing his family’s two-decade journey to obtain legal status profoundly impacted Narciso. His father’s eventual residency not only allowed for a joyous reunion with his grandmother in Oaxaca after 20 years apart but also opened doors for better job opportunities and the freedom to live without fear. These experiences inspired Narciso to dedicate his life to helping others navigate the complex path to legal residency and citizenship Narciso earned his Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy History from the University of California, Santa Barbara, all while working full-time to support himself. He then pursued his legal education in San Diego, driven by a passion to serve the immigrant community with compassion and understanding. Since joining the California Bar in 2011, Narciso has passionately represented clients, focusing on addressing the injustices faced by undocumented immigrants, particularly in cases involving labor abuse and modern slavery under the T visa. Authorized to appear in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California and the Executive Office for Immigration Review, he brings extensive experience to every case he handles. Before founding The Cruz Law Office, APC, Narciso honed his skills at one of San Diego’s largest immigration firms. Fluent in English and Spanish, Narciso combines strong analytical skills with personalized client attention. He has built his practice primarily through satisfied clients and trusted connections within the legal community. At The Cruz Law Office, APC, he leads a dedicated team—many of whom are immigrants themselves or come from immigrant families—who understand the immigration system firsthand. For Narciso, being an advocate for immigrants is more than a profession; it’s a personal mission rooted in his own life’s journey. He is honored to help families and individuals realize their dreams of legal status in the U.S., actively defending immigrant communities, and fighting for the American Dream for all. With experience, compassion, and effectiveness, Narciso ensures that the client is always the top priority [read more]

Our produce is all grown from organic seeds which we start right here on our property. Although our farm is not “certified organic”, we do use organic practices and absolutely no pesticides!. We’ve grown many different fruits and vegetables, and many have been sold to local favorite Farm to Table Restaurants in our area. Some of our favorite produce to grow are strawberries, romaine lettuce, and onions! We also love to supply the “juicers” by providing amazing chard, kale, spinach and beets! For those that aren’t quite into veggies, don’t tell them but we do sneak in our zucchini into a delicious zucchini bread that’s available in our market! [read more]

An Idea to Meet a Need Since 1945, U-Haul has been serving do-it-yourself movers and their households. Like many other successful ventures, the concept for U-Haul was generated out of need. After World War II, widespread need existed for do-it-yourself moving equipment that would be available on a one-way, nationwide basis. U-Haul co-founders L.S. "Sam" Shoen and his wife, Anna Mary Carty Shoen, recognized that need and acted upon it. Their visionary approach spread the cost of ownership among many users, facilitating the mobility of the populations of the U.S. and Canada. [read more]
