An Idea to Meet a Need Since 1945, U-Haul has been serving do-it-yourself movers and their households. Like many other successful ventures, the concept for U-Haul was generated out of need. After World War II, widespread need existed for do-it-yourself moving equipment that would be available on a one-way, nationwide basis. U-Haul co-founders L.S. "Sam" Shoen and his wife, Anna Mary Carty Shoen, recognized that need and acted upon it. Their visionary approach spread the cost of ownership among many users, facilitating the mobility of the populations of the U.S. and Canada. [read more]

About SoCal Surf Shop SoCal Surf Shop Hi Everyone! Welcome to SoCal Surf Shop! We are very proud to open our new site to all our family and friends! Welcome to our new Southern California Lifestyle Surf Shop. SoCal started way back in the 1960's in Santa Monica when Paul's father shaped surfboards in their 600 sq. ft. shop on the boardwalk. Back then it was known by the name of SoCal Surf Club, a place to drink beers and "talk story" about surf trips and the goings on of the day. There was not a lot of accessories at the time so he would just sell the basics, custom made surfboards and hand made leather sandals. His Mom and Dad taught Paul how to surf at the age of 3, his parents would even tandem surf together in Santa Monica, Malibu and all around So. Cal. Fast forward 7 years, the Durant family had moved to Silver Strand Beach. Paul would hang out at the only Surf shop in town called the Sport Port, this is where at the age of 10, he made friends with the owner that taught him how to shape Surfboards and build Skateboards. Paul continued his love of Surfing and Skateboarding throughout the 70's, then in the 80's, he discovered another new love, Snowboarding. He was one of the original professional riders on the Sims Snowboard team. Eventually he earned the nickname of Cochise, but that was not until his mid twenties. The nickname Cochise was giving to him due to his Native American heritage and his legendary long black hair. He soon became involved in product development for Sims snowboards and later on he was the product development manager for Vans where he developed the thermo moldable boot liner that is considered the standard for snowboard boots today. Paul Durant carried the SoCal tradition in his father's footsteps in 1999 Dana Point where I met him one fateful day. The SoCal shop carried Surf, Skate, & Snowboards, but what I noticed the most was the warmest and kindest man I had ever met in my life - my Husband, Paul. Sadly, SoCal had to close the doors on their brick and mortar in Dana Point late 2008 and had to rely on the virtual platform know as the internet, but the heart of SoCal stayed steadfast. He and his two girls, Taylor and Eli, are my family. We all Skate, Surf, and Snowboard together and we returned to our roots by opening our new brick and mortar store in Talega of San Clemente! Thank you for all your support and kindness these past few years when we at SoCal needed it most. We updated our website to this new site with all types of new products and new companies for the world to see. We don't post all our products here on the site, but you can stop by the shop at the Talega Village center in San Clemente, 801 Avenida Talega San Clemente, Ca. 92673. At the Shop you will see the vast selection of new products. To all of you, from all of us at SoCal Surf Shop - Thank you and we hope to see you at our San Clemente location!!! [read more]

Our Heritage Our story begins in 1971 along the cobblestone streets of Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. It was here where Starbucks opened its first store, offering fresh-roasted coffee beans, tea and spices from around the world for our customers to take home. Our name was inspired by the classic tale, “Moby-Dick,” evoking the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders. Ten years later, a young New Yorker named Howard Schultz would walk through these doors and become captivated with Starbucks coffee from his first sip. After joining the company in 1982, a different cobblestone road would lead him to another discovery. It was on a trip to Milan in 1983 that Howard first experienced Italy’s coffeehouses, and he returned to Seattle inspired to bring the warmth and artistry of its coffee culture to Starbucks. By 1987, we swapped our brown aprons for green ones and embarked on our next chapter as a coffeehouse. Starbucks would soon expand to Chicago and Vancouver, Canada and then on to California, Washington, D.C. and New York. By 1996, we would cross the Pacific to open our first store in Japan, followed by Europe in 1998 and China in 1999. Over the next two decades, we would grow to welcome millions of customers each week and become a part of the fabric of tens of thousands of neighborhoods all around the world. In everything we do, we are always dedicated to Our Mission: With every cup, with every conversation, with every community - we nurture the limitless possibilities of human connection. [read more]

To our beloved Apparition Room guests, It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of our beloved Old Town Temecula speakeasy. Despite our hopes, we encountered significant challenges with potential new owners that ultimately led to a fallout, making it impossible for us to continue operations. As we say goodbye to the one-of-a-kind charm and vibrant energy that made our space so special, our hearts are heavy with the memories we’ve shared within these walls. If a new bar happens to take its place, it will never capture the magic that we built—the passion and vision of the original owner will be lost, and with it, the soul of what once made this place feel like home. We are truly saddened to part ways, but we will forever treasure the moments spent with our wonderful guests. Thank you for being a part of our journey; the memories we’ve created together will always hold a special place in our hearts. [read more]

It was built on this site in 1883 by R.J. and Mary Jane Welty. The second of the two hotels was rebuilt on this site after the first hotel was destroyed by fire in 1891. The present building was erected that same year. Both hotels were owned and operated by the Welty family for over thirty years. Later, owner Grace LeClare operated it as both an apartment house and hotel. It was purchased in 1960 by local historian Horace Parker and his wife Leverne who owned the hotel until 2014. The year it was purchased by the Beck Brothers. Only the third time since 1883 that ownership has changed hands. The Secret Tesla Master Plan (Just Between You and Me) Elon Musk, Co-Founder and CEO of Tesla Motors, August 2, 2006 As you know, Tesla's first product was a high-performance electric sports car called the Tesla Roadster. However, some readers may not be aware that our long-term plan is to produce different models of cars, including affordable family cars. This is because the primary purpose of Tesla (and the reason I invested in the company) is to help advance the transition from an economy based on the extraction and combustion of hydrocarbon fuels to a solar electric economy. I believe this is the main solution for sustainable development, though not the only one. To achieve this goal, it is crucial to produce electric vehicles without compromise. The purpose of the Tesla Roadster is to directly face and defeat gasoline-powered sports cars like those from Porsche or Ferrari. Moreover, on top of that, its energy efficiency is twice that of the Prius. Nevertheless, some people still ask what good this does for the world. Do we really need another high-performance sports car? Can it really have an impact on the global carbon emissions problem? Well, the answer is no, not much. But that's not the point, unless you understand the secret master plan mentioned at the beginning of this article. Almost all new technologies initially have a high unit cost and will gradually be improved over time, and this is also true for electric vehicles. Tesla's strategy is to enter the high-end market, where consumers are willing to pay a higher price. Then, with the launch of each subsequent model, we aim to move towards a larger market as quickly as possible with greater production volume and lower prices. I can say that our second model will be a four-door sports family car, priced at around half of the Tesla Roadster's price ($89,000), while sacrificing not too many other features. And the price of the third model will be even more affordable. As a rapidly growing technology company, all of our free cash flow is invested in research and development to reduce costs and bring subsequent products to market as soon as possible. When someone buys a Tesla Roadster sports car, they are actually helping to cover the development costs of the family car. [read more]

We are a family working together to create Green Deli, a restaurant that offers healthy, fresh, homemade style dishes and drinks. We opened Green Deli on January 4th of 2019 with a lot of hopes, expecting to offer a new concept to Temecula and its surroundings. We believe in using high quality, natural ingredients when preparing our food. Everything is made fresh at the time of order and served with a smile. We love what we do! That's the most important factor that makes a difference in what we provide. We specialize in "Tortas" which are a Mexican style sandwich. Our bread, known as "birote" is baked freshly for us. Then we add high quality meat and fresh sliced veggies to create the very best Torta! We also prepare agua frescas, which are natural, fresh fruit blended with refreshing cold water. All of our drinks (smoothies, juices, raspados, agua fresca) are made with fruit and/or veggies and no artificial syrups. We are a truly natural juice bar. We also have a special selection of coffee beans with a unique custom blend of dark roast from Central and South America. We grind the beans never a moment before you arrive to prepare the finest Espresso for you! [read more]
