Helio Motorized Bicycles was formed in 2009 and is the premiere motorized gas bike company in the USA. What separates our business from the rest is that we actually assemble our bikes. Most other companies sell kits and parts. This is great for the do-it-yourself home mechanic. However, if you aren’t experienced in mechanics it can be frustrating,costly and time consuming. There are many parts in the motor kits that are simply trash. Through tons of experience, we have thrown away what parts are cheap and faulty. Helio specializes in assembly (we have built hundreds), testing and tuning. We have engineered custom made parts for our Motorized Bicycles. These parts, increase dependability,quality and performance. Through trial and error, we have decided to concentrate on the 4 stroke gas motor instead of the 2 stroke. Why you ask? Go to for a write up on 2 vs. 4 stroke bicycle engines. Since we shifted to the 4 stroke, Helio has been able to concentrate on building bikes with these motors. In particular Helio has discovered ways to use both the Honda GXH50 and the smaller GX35. These motors, when mated to an American made Gearbox produce a reliable power plant. Our gas bikes get 150-250mpg and will cruise a comfortable 35mph! Helio is constantly trying to better our product with new parts and models. Bio - Vera tinoco I started dancing at six years old studying Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary dance. My love for dancing started with dancing at home on my father’s feet. My life goal was to become a MD, but a turn of events guided me to Chemistry. After graduating in Chemistry and earning a PhD in Biochemistry, I travelled the world for scientific conference, while still doing dance performances throughout Europe and Russia. After working many hours in the lab, to blow some steam off I would spend nights at the dance studio. I left Italy in 2008 to move to San Diego to work at UCSD as Biochemist. Although I spend a lot of time studying and working, I also couldn’t let go of my passion for dancing. After integrating into my community, I fell in love with Latin music and dance. After doing experiments in the lab during the day, I spent the nights watching people dance. It took me months to get the courage to go out on the dance floor, but once I did, I was hooked. Throughout the years, I took many lessons and courses and ended up dancing with some of the great dancers of our time. In 2010, I started teaching some classes for fun to share my passion for Latin dance. It was incredible to see how many people shared my excitement and enjoyed my way to teach. After teaching classes for a few years, I had the thought, could I own my own dance company? During one of my classes, I had the luck to meet the man that I would eventually marry and have two wonderful children with. After spending 17 years in different labs all over the world doing research, I choose to have a family and raise my children. At that point I left my science career and with the incredible support of my husband, I made my dream of owning a dance company come true, taking my part-time hobby into a full-time business. That decision allowed me to the flexibility to live life on my own terms. In 2013, I moved my company to North County to build a community for local dancers, by having regular dance classes and dance social events that regularly bring around 150 people to each event. Hi, we are Toasted Tours, previous Toasted Corks! Actually we are just Kevin & Kayla, but Toasted Tours is our thing. We have been married for 13 years, have 3 kids, and have lived in Temecula since 2017. I (Kevin) will speak for Kayla since she isn’t here to defend herself and she doesn’t manage the website, so I can write whatever I want 😘. Kayla is a walking representation of all that makes life sweet. She is a very authentic person and wears her heart on her sleeve. Her poker face is for the birds. She is so real. Warm and loving and beautiful in so many ways, she loves to connect with people and can take about 30 minutes (or .78 glasses of Sauv Blanc) to let her guard down, but when she does she lights up a room the way she lights up my life. I love her forever. A few months pre-Covid I asked for her support to take a different direction in our lives and she has stuck by me, though I have tested her far past the bounds of prudence. Kayla manages our inquiries, social media, general admin, and anything she damn well sees fit (speaking of which, I promise I’m getting to the benches babe). She is the host on Semi Toasted tours, so if we are lucky enough to earn your business you will know her well. Kayla, thank you for filling my life with the endless joy of you. Concerning the other member of the Toasted Corks team (me), I’ll describe him as… a profound pain in the you-know-what. No sugarcoat. Stubborn as a retirement age mule, gleefully nonconformist, he is compulsively trying to reinvent the wheel when the wheels we have are just fine. That may be a tad harsh… I’m not all bad. I do love to innovate and when I have an idea that lights the fires of inspiration, I get going and press on until I see it through. Thus an 18 wheeler trailer project that was sheer brutality. I drive the trailer bus, manage the executive aspects of the business, act as the sole grease monkey, and try to make it look like I know what I’m doing. The trailer bus was an idea I had to take an extremely developed, hyper practical logistics platform and tweak if for my purposes to transport people. It gives me redundancy against mechanical failures, flexibility for emissions regulations in CA, in my opinion actually contributes to passenger safety, and ends up being pretty neat for wine tours if I may say so myself. We love Temecula. We are blessed to make a living soaking up the little things that make it lovely, like our hot summer days in the vineyards with a chilled Pinot Grigio, the smell of rich earth on that consistent late afternoon breeze, and the laughter of happy, social people bubbling up around us. We think of Toasted Corks as a reflection of our personal values. What matters to us is spending time with our loved ones, working on unusual projects that we find intriguing, making friends, and participating in a community that cares for its members.
