The Press Espresso's journey began with the desire to create better coffee at home and then share the fun ritual with others. Husband and wife team DeShun and Yasmine met over shared similar interests in college for photography and fashion design and eventually the craft of roasting and brewing coffee. In 2015 they started a plan to create a space in the community that would offer freshly roasted coffee and carefully and aesthetically prepared coffee and tea drinks. Our Heritage Our story begins in 1971 along the cobblestone streets of Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. It was here where Starbucks opened its first store, offering fresh-roasted coffee beans, tea and spices from around the world for our customers to take home. Our name was inspired by the classic tale, “Moby-Dick,” evoking the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders.
