After a successful 10 years in Gardena, it was time for Cesare to move his wife and three children to Mission Viejo in 1970, where he started his own appliance repair business. He and his wife ran the business together for several years with their kids eventually expanding office personnel, shop help and field tech service. Our Heritage Our story begins in 1971 along the cobblestone streets of Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. It was here where Starbucks opened its first store, offering fresh-roasted coffee beans, tea and spices from around the world for our customers to take home.
