With a mission of enriching the community through the power of the arts, the California Center for the Arts, Escondido Foundation is an independent 501 (c) nonprofit organization contracted to manage the Center’s facilities by the City of Escondido. After the people of Escondido voted to fund the Center in June 1985, the City entrusted its management to the CCAE Foundation. As a nonprofit dedicated to prioritizing the community’s cultural and artistic needs, the Foundation was uniquely equipped to bring this vision to life with excellence and unwavering commitment. For the past 30 years, the Foundation has been a steadfast steward of the comprehensive facilities. Over the years a volunteer Board of Trustees composed of community leaders, has worked tirelessly to govern the facilities’ management and cultivate an environment where the arts could flourish and the community could thrive. To underscore the Foundation’s commitment to its mission and stewardship of the facilities, the Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers and community members met in spring of 2024 to create a strategic plan as a roadmap to success to be executed over the next five years. Cantor's Driving School - Serving All Of San Diego County
Allan Cantor opened the first Cantor’s Driving School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1976. This father of four was a History Teacher and Disciplinarian at Overbrook High School in West Philadelphia. He began teaching students how to drive part-time and on the weekends. Soon, he had taught nearly every teen in the area how to drive. Allan was the best driving instructor around. He was known for his jovial personality and relatability with his students. A stop off to grab a famous Philadelphia cheesesteak during a lesson was not out of the question – and something his students loved about him. Of course it was the 1970s and times were different then, but Cantor’s Driving School has always been about Family, Community, and Safety. As years went by, Cantor’s Driving School grew into the neighboring Philadelphia suburbs. And as his children grew, his youngest son Frank joined the family business. Learning the ins-and-outs of being a great driving instructor from his father, Frank was able to expand Cantor’s Driving School into 5 states – Pennsylvania, Florida, Nevada, Arizona, and California. Today, Frank Cantor owns and operates Cantor’s Driving School with his wife, Cheri, continuing the tradition of a family-owned and operated business. Owner and operator Diana Lefort set out to establish a unique way for everyone to experience the beauty of Temecula Valley’s Wine Country. The result was Wine Country Trails by Horseback. Diana is a local resident whose passion and more than 3 decades of experience with horses provides a safe, relaxing and memorable experience to all riders. The rides are conducted with the highest level of professionalism and service with experienced and knowledgeable guides that work hard to exceed your expectations. But that's not the whole story... Over the years there has been a dramatic increase in the number of horses abused by their owners. These horses are often abandoned or just turned loose to fend for themselves, usually resulting in starvation and loss of life. Through the assistance of a local veterinarian, Diana has rehabilitated more than 50 horses. Living comfortably on a 20 acre ranch in Temecula Valley, these lovely horses get the treatment and care that they deserve while happily fulfilling a purpose once again. Through your patronage and support we can continue to take in more of these amazing animals. All proceeds are used for feed, medical care, and farrier services. Through natural horsemanship training we can recondition, rehabilitate and retrain these horses to live a healthy and productive life. Our experienced trainers evaluate each and every horse and condition them for touring guests through the vineyards. Every rescue horse will not fit this program.
